Your Role in Supporting Our Members: As an Analyst, ESG , you'll play a critical role in supporting Vancity Investment Management's responsible investing strategy by conducting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) research and analysis on potential and existing investments. You'll provide actionable insights to portfolio managers and investment committees, contribute to sustainable portfolio construction, and help advance shareholder engagement initiatives. We're looking for a highly analytical and collaborative professional who is passionate about sustainable finance and can translate complex ESG information into meaningful investment insights. This is a Full-time, Temporary role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Portfolio Manager, ESG Analysis VCIM . While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement , you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands. How You'll Make an Impact: Conducting ESG research and analysis on prospective and existing investment opportunities to support portfolio decision-making Evaluating environmental, social, and governance risks and opportunities across investment portfolios Providing timely recommendations and insights to Portfolio Managers and Investment Committee members Identifying emerging ESG trends, issues, and opportunities that may impact portfolio holdings and investment strategies Preparing briefing materials, reports, and presentations on ESG developments, regulatory changes, and industry best practices Supporting shareholder engagement initiatives through research and analysis of corporate sustainability practices Developing written content and presentation materials to support sales, marketing, and member education initiatives Collaborating with internal stakeholders to integrate ESG considerations into investment analysis and portfolio construction Monitoring market, consumer, business, and community trends to identify risks and opportunities Contributing to continuous improvement of ESG research methodologies and responsible investment practices What You’ll Bring to the Team: Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline 3+ years of experience in investment analysis, ESG research, sustainable finance, responsible investing, or a related field Demonstrating strong analytical and research capabilities with the ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative information Applying advanced business writing skills to produce high-quality reports, briefing notes, and presentations Communicating effectively with technical and non-technical audiences through written, verbal, and presentation formats Understanding financial markets, investment management principles, and responsible investment frameworks Working knowledge of ESG reporting standards, sustainability trends, and corporate governance practices Holding or working toward professional designations such as CFA, CIM, ESG Investing Certificate, or other relevant credentials is considered an asset Applying sound problem-solving and decision-making skills to assess risks and identify opportunities Extra Skills That Set You Apart: Experience working within asset management, wealth management, pension funds, or institutional investing environments Knowledge of shareholder engagement, proxy voting, and active ownership practices Familiarity with ESG data providers, sustainability reporting frameworks, and impact measurement methodologies You’ll Thrive Here If You Are: Analytical - Skilled at evaluating complex information and identifying meaningful investment insights. What You’ll Earn: The base salary for this role is $95,000 plus bonus. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
