What you’ll be doing:
The Incident Response Analyst role is a position providing an opportunity to work in a fast paced collaborative environment defending Verizon from current and future cyber threats. This position plays a critical role in Verizon Business Group’s security incident response and remediation efforts, as well as communications to address customer concerns pertaining to security events. Analysts must be agile, willing to learn and teach others, and able to think outside of the box in order to operate effectively in an ever changing threat landscape.
Responsibilities:
● Utilizing incident response workflows and provide feedback for process improvement
● Collecting supporting information and/or relevant artifacts in support of incident response activities
● Triaging and routing security events to team members and leadership based on defined threat and priority determination
● Drafting incident update communications in collaboration with Verizon Business Group Cyber (“VBG”) Incident Response leadership and Legal teams
● Supporting wireless investigation incident response lead in day to day detection and response
● Executing the incident response lifecycle and coordinates remediation activities throughout the Verizon organisation and its lines of business as a part of cyber incident handling for low to moderate priority incidents
● Acting as Incident Commander for low to moderate complexity incidents by coordinating response and customers communication efforts with various stakeholders throughout the incident lifecycle
● Supporting incident response leadership during investigation and response efforts for high priority incidents
● Maintaining incident records in preparation for compliance and executive reporting
● Recommending solutions to optimize both technical and process/procedure aspects of the end to end incident lifecycle
● Writing technical articles and incident response run books as directed by VBG IR leadership
What we are looking for..
You’ll need to have…
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Four or more years of relevant work experience with IT Compliance, Operational Compliance, Business Controls, Cyber or Information Security.
- Related certification (A+, Network+, Security+, CISSP, CISA, GCIH, GCFA, GCFE, GNFA, GREM) similar or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire.
- Information assurance or cyber experience in the telecommunications industry
- Experience in cyber intelligence or related disciplines
- Experience with enterprise antivirus, IDS, full packet capture and host/network forensics tools.
- Knowledge of Networking (including the OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP), system administration, and security architecture
- Experience various query languages such as Splunk, SQL and Kibana Query Language
- Experience in a combination of risk management, information security and/or technology.
- Experience with proactive detection, monitoring, and data analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate information security and risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences at various hierarchical levels, ranging from board members to technical specialists.
