Role Summary

The purpose of this position is to manage Export Vessel Space control activity for the North Americanregion in order to maximize vessel utilization in close coordination with Sales, Operations, CustomerService and Marketing.

Additional Responsibilities

● Perform margin and cost analysis to maximize profitable cargo loading each vessel and provide proactive solutions to minimize operational costs.
● Analyze, organize and interpret raw data on container movement and vessel utilization using excel and other pertinent systems.
● Coordinate with Marketing group to control booking volume and maximize optimum utilization on both trunk vessel basis and feeder services.
● Monitor feeder and trunk allocations and prepare daily flash reports.
● Responsible for weekly reporting of utilization performance and match-back.
● Stay abreast of market trends, business targets/objectives, and changes involving operating costs, services, etc.
● Systems input and analytical support.
● Available for possible travel if requested.
● Other duties as assigned by Managers or Sr. Managers.
● Knowledge of Transpacific and Transatlantic marketplace, market trends, and competitive services is strongly preferred.
● Pro-actively work with concerned parties such as Operations, Space Control, Vessel Close Out, Vessel Planners, Alliance Partners etc., to evaluate opportunities for achieving over 100% of space (TEU) utilization and match-back.

● Demonstrated effective values being internally and externally customer-focused while supporting Company business plan.
● Knowledge and understanding of Company’s business plan, objectives, and marketing strategy.
● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; solid analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
● Team player, motivated, disciplined, and good initiative.
● Available for extended hours and occasional travel, as needed.
● Strong data handling skill

Function Specific Skills

● Knowledge of ocean and inland services.
● Excellent proficiency with PC's, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word and Google Suites.
● Strong working knowledge of company operating systems.
● Knowledge of data retrieval, analysis and reporting practices.

Required Minimum Years Experience

Minimum +2 years of industry related experience, prior industry operations experience a plus.

Required Minimum Education

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

ONE NA follows a hybrid work schedule requiring employees to work 3 days in the office (i.e. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 2 days remote each week.

Salary commensurate with experience means your pay will be directly proportional to your background, skills, and qualifications.
