About Exsolvæ

Exsolvæ is a Brussels-based consultancy firm specialized in Data, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence. We support organizations through advisory services, technical audits, and end-to-end solution delivery, helping them modernize and scale their data capabilities.

Our consultants, known as Solvers, combine technical excellence with a strong learning mindset. We invest heavily in innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing to ensure we consistently deliver meaningful and sustainable impact for our clients.

We are currently looking for an experienced Analytics Engineer with a strong background in the Microsoft data stack and Microsoft Fabric to contribute to data and analytics programs in Belgium.

About the role

In this role, you will bridge data engineering and business analytics. You will design and build the semantic layer and analytical data models on Microsoft Fabric that turn raw data into trusted, well-documented datasets and reports used across the organization. Working closely with data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders, you will make sure the right data reaches the right people in a form they can rely on.

You will take ownership of data transformation, modeling, and reporting workflows, applying software engineering best practices such as version control, testing, and documentation to analytics.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Informatics, or a related field
  • Languages: Fluent in (French or Dutch) and English (spoken and written)
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in analytics engineering, BI development, or data engineering roles
  • Microsoft Fabric: Hands-on experience with Fabric components such as Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Data Pipelines, and Notebooks
  • Power BI: Strong expertise in Power BI, including semantic model design, DAX, Power Query (M), and report development
  • Data Modeling: Solid understanding of dimensional modeling (star schema, Kimball) and medallion architecture
  • SQL: Advanced SQL skills (T-SQL and/or Spark SQL), including performance optimization
  • Data Quality: Experience implementing data validation, testing, and documentation of data models
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, the ability to translate business questions into data solutions, and comfort working in client-facing, cross-functional teams

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with PySpark in Fabric or Databricks notebooks
  • Familiarity with Direct Lake mode, OneLake, and shortcuts
  • Experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and Git integration for Fabric and Power BI (deployment pipelines, Azure DevOps, GitHub)
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview or data governance practices
  • Microsoft certifications such as DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate) or PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst)

What You’ll Do

Solution Design & Delivery

  • Translate business requirements into scalable analytical data models and semantic layers
  • Build, test, and maintain transformation logic in Microsoft Fabric
  • Develop performant, user-friendly Power BI semantic models and reports

  • Design curated data layers following medallion architecture principles
  • Define and centralize business logic, KPIs, and metrics to create a single source of truth

Innovation & Improvement

  • Continuously evaluate new Microsoft Fabric and Power BI features to improve platform efficiency
  • Contribute to internal best practices, reusable templates, and technical standards within Exsolvæ

Team & Project Collaboration

  • Work alongside data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Enable business users through self-service analytics, documentation, and knowledge transfer
  • Support project delivery from initial design through production rollout
