Shape the future of financial planning at Cynergy Bank.

Join us as an Anaplan Lead / Model Builder – FP&A and make an immediate impact by strengthening a critical platform supporting reporting, budgeting and forecasting across the Bank.

What’s the Opportunity?

This is a six-month fixed-term contract with an ASAP start, offering a salary of £75,000–£85,000 per annum, depending on experience.

You’ll take the lead in developing and embedding best practice across our existing Anaplan models, setting practical standards for model design, data quality, governance and delivery.

This isn’t about wholesale redesign. You’ll enhance what we already have, introduce valuable new functionality and, importantly, help build internal capability so that our Anaplan environment remains reliable, efficient and sustainable long after the assignment ends.

Working within FP&A, you’ll partner with Treasury, Lending, Savings, Data and other key stakeholders to improve planning processes, reduce spreadsheet dependency and strengthen reporting, budgeting and forecasting.

Where You’ll Work

You’ll enjoy hybrid working, with three days in our London office and two days working from home.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to step into a focused assignment where your expertise can make a difference quickly. You’ll have the scope to improve how Anaplan is used across the Bank, shape practical best practice and leave behind stronger internal capability.

You’ll work with colleagues across Finance and the wider business in an environment that values collaboration, practical thinking and doing the right thing.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Lending and Savings teams to improve data collection, translate requirements and advance modelling capability across the business.

  • Extend existing driver-based models to support rolling forecasts, annual budgets, entity and business-unit planning, scenario analysis and ICAAP stress testing.

  • Establish consistent standards for modules, lists, naming conventions, reusable logic and documentation.

  • Embed PLANS and Planual principles through model reviews and repeatable checks covering calculations, dimensionality, performance and workspace memory.

  • Improve input screens, reporting standards and overall usability while introducing practical new planning functionality.

  • Partner with data engineers to maintain and enhance integrations between Anaplan and platforms including Google Cloud Platform, nCino and NetSuite.

  • Strengthen mappings, imports, exports, validation and reconciliation to support consistent data quality.

  • Establish repeatable peer review, testing, user acceptance, ALM and release practices that protect existing functionality and planning cycles.

  • Prioritise the enhancement backlog with stakeholders and provide dependable support during forecast and budget cycles.

  • Coach users and internal builders, transferring knowledge and strengthening long-term internal ownership of Anaplan.

What You’ll Bring
  • Five or more years’ hands-on Anaplan model-building experience, including taking ownership of existing production models and delivering sustainable enhancements.

  • Experience within a bank’s FP&A team, or delivering planning solutions with banking FP&A and business stakeholders.

  • Anaplan Model Builder certification, with Level 2 Model Building completed as a minimum.

  • Strong Anaplan architecture, PLANS, optimisation and workspace-management expertise.

  • Financial modelling expertise across budgeting, forecasting and scenario analysis, including bank income statement and balance sheet relationships.

  • Experience developing and embedding data-quality, reconciliation, testing and change-control practices for live planning models.

  • Enterprise application or database integration experience, with the ability to partner with engineers on requirements, validation and troubleshooting.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate technical and financial requirements for non-technical colleagues.

  • Practical judgement that balances performance, usability and maintainability.

Even Better If You Have
  • Anaplan Level 3 Model Building, Solution Architect certification or Certified Master Anaplanner status.

  • Anaplan Data Hubs, DISCO, ALM or automated integration experience.

  • Hands-on integration experience with nCino, NetSuite or Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage or Cloud SQL.

  • SQL, API, Python or orchestration-tool experience.

  • Lending or savings portfolio modelling experience, including interest income and expense, funding costs, margins or product profitability.

  • ICAAP, capital or liquidity planning experience and integrated income statement, balance sheet or cash-flow modelling.

  • A finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent practical financial-modelling experience.

How We’ll Support You

It may be a six-month contract, but we want you to enjoy your time with us. You’ll receive £75,000–£85,000, 14 days’ annual leave plus public holidays, a day off for your birthday and hybrid working, alongside a welcoming and inclusive culture where you can make an impact from day one.
