We are looking for an Automation Engineer (Android) to join one of our teams - Bluebeam
YOUR DAILY CHALLENGES
- Design and develop automated tests for Android app features, workflows and regression using Appium and TypeScript (e.g. WebdriverIO);
- Build and maintain the mobile test framework and tools, including screen objects, device and capability configuration and shared utilities;
- Run and maintain test coverage across Android OS versions, device types and screen sizes using emulators, real devices and device clouds;
- Work with Android developers and cross-functional teams to improve app testability (e.g. stable accessibility IDs) and find automation opportunities;
- Troubleshoot, stabilise and improve existing tests, reducing flakiness caused by timing, device state and environment issues;
- Use AI coding agents (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to write tests faster, investigate failures and keep suites maintainable.
OUR EXPECTATIONS
- At least 4+ years of experience in test automation, including at least 2 years automating native Android apps with Appium;
- Strong TypeScript skills and hands-on experience with Appium (UiAutomator2 driver) and WebdriverIO or a similar client;
- Proven experience setting up test frameworks from scratch and building custom tooling, utilities and integrations;
- Solid knowledge of the Android platform: app lifecycle, permissions, ADB, Android Studio, emulators (AVDs) and UI inspection tools such as Appium Inspector;
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines in GitHub and/or GitLab, including running mobile test suites on emulators or device clouds;
- Ability to independently diagnose complex test failures using device logs (logcat), screenshots and screen recordings;
- Experience with API testing and writing SQL for backend validation and test data management;
- Hands-on experience with at least one AI coding agent;
- Fluent in English.
CONSIDERED A PLUS
- Experience with device cloud platforms such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs or AWS Device Farm;
- Knowledge of Kotlin or Java and Android-native testing tools such as Espresso;
- Experience with iOS automation (XCUITest) or web automation (e.g. Playwright);
- Experience testing document-heavy, collaboration or enterprise mobile apps.
WHAT YOU WILL GET
- Work on products used by construction professionals worldwide, and build cloud solutions that transform how they manage projects and collaborate globally;
- Hybrid work model;
- Access to conferences, training programs, and self-learning platforms;
- Supportive environment where your ideas matter and technical excellence is valued;
- Shape your role and grow within a 450+ person organisation with 25+ years of software excellence;
- Diverse internal events and activities to build relationships across teams;
- Comprehensive benefits and financial compensation.
We’re looking for people with creative minds and enthusiasm to join us in developing what’s new, what’s next, and what best serves our customers’ needs.
Ready to make an impact in software development? We’d be happy to welcome you to our team.
