Android Native Medior/Senior Developer (Kotlin)

As we continue to grow and establish ourselves as one of Belgium's leading POS solutions, we're looking for a talented Medior / Senior Android Developer to help us take our Android application to the next level.

We're challenging traditional POS standards by combining powerful functionality with a modern, intuitive user experience. We believe professional software should be as enjoyable and straightforward to use as the apps people interact with every day.

Your role

You'll work closely with our technical team and contribute to the development, stability and long-term evolution of our native Android POS application.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining features in our native Android application.
• Improving application stability, performance and reliability.
• Contributing to technical architecture, code quality and long-term maintainability.
• Investigating and resolving complex production issues.
• Working with hardware integrations, including printers, payment terminals and other peripherals.
• Writing clean, testable and maintainable code.
• Collaborating on UI/UX improvements while respecting and evolving our in-house design system.
• Helping improve our development, testing and release processes.

What we're looking for

• 4+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Strong understanding of concurrency, multithreading, Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
• Solid understanding of MVVM, dependency injection and modern Android architecture.
• Experience with REST APIs, asynchronous programming and networking.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience maintaining and evolving production applications.
• A keen eye for UI/UX design, attention to detail and a passion for building intuitive, polished interfaces.
• Familiarity with Android design guidelines and modern UI development practices.
• Ability to work autonomously, take initiative and contribute to technical decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience with POS, payment or hardware integrations.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with Hilt, Room, Retrofit and OkHttp.
