Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and motivated APAC PI Technical Mgr to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

Role Summary
The APAC Technical Manager leads the regional technical function across Asia Pacific. The role owns the APAC technical strategy, standards, capability plan, and governance framework, ensuring strong alignment with sales, quality, service, product, corporate, and global technical teams.

This is a senior, customer-facing leadership role. It supports strategic opportunities, complex applications, trials, validation, technical escalations, and knowledge sharing across diverse APAC markets. The role also converts customer and application insights into technical recommendations that support business growth, customer success, and product development feedback.


What you’ll be doing
Regional Technical Leadership and Strategy:
Lead the APAC Technical department and define the regional technical roadmap, priorities, standards, and capability-building plan.
Establish consistent technical processes, documentation standards, trial protocols, reporting templates, and best-practice sharing across APAC.
Build and manage a skilled regional technical team covering application support, product trials, testing, validation, technical reporting, and customer problem solving.
Represent APAC technical needs in regional and global discussions, ensuring local market requirements are reflected in technical plans and product feedback.
Engage and liaise with corporate and global teams on technical matters, product performance, testing requirements, capability development, standards, and improvement priorities.

Customer Technical Support, Trials, and Risk Management:
Act as the senior technical escalation point for strategic customers, complex applications, field issues, and high-value opportunities.
Oversee customer site surveys, product trials, validation testing, benchmarking, and technical reports that support customer decisions and sales conversion.
Identify application, product-fit, safety, compliance, and trial risks, and define clear escalation and mitigation actions.
Use trial data, customer feedback, and application insights to improve technical recommendations, strengthen value propositions, and support continuous improvement.

Commercial Enablement and Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with sales leaders to support revenue growth, opportunity conversion, customer retention, and development of priority sectors and applications.
Collaborate with quality, service, product, operations, corporate, and global technical teams to resolve issues, share APAC customer and application feedback, and support product, testing, and capability improvements.
Influence stakeholders across countries and functions to align technical priorities with business goals, customer expectations, and global standards.
Engage senior leaders on key technical projects, present clear recommendations, and influence decisions by explaining the technical, customer, commercial, and strategic merits.

Team Capability, Governance, and Performance:
Lead, coach, and develop the APAC technical team and build technical capability in country sales, service, and support teams.
Plan resources, training, equipment, and capability investments needed to support regional priorities and future growth.
Define, measure, and communicate the technical team’s contribution to APAC business performance, including sales enablement, opportunity conversion, customer retention, risk reduction, productivity improvement, and strategic account support.
Track performance through clear KPIs such as trial success rate, technical response time, case resolution, customer satisfaction, sales support impact, knowledge sharing, and compliance outcomes.



Skills/Experience:

This is what you’ll need to be successful in this role
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences, or related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) is a plus.
Proficiency in English required. Additional APAC languages (e.g., Mandarin, Japanese) are a plus.
Strong understanding of engineering principles, fluid handling systems, product testing, validation, technical risk assessment, and data analysis.
8-10 years of technical leadership experience, including application support, customer trials, validation, troubleshooting, and technical reporting.
3-5 years of people leadership or cross-functional technical leadership experience across APAC or other multi-country environments.
Experience supporting strategic customers, complex applications, technical escalations, and senior stakeholder discussions.
Experience in industrial engineering or fluid handling systems is preferred.
Proven ability to manage complex technical projects and translate technical findings into clear commercial and customer value.
Ability to engage senior leaders, build confidence in technical recommendations, and convince stakeholders of the business merits of key projects and initiatives.
Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing technical teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration with sales, quality, and service teams.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends, anomalies, risks, and improvement opportunities from technical data.
Sound understanding of safety, quality, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements relevant to technical validation and customer support.
Ability to adjust strategies to meet evolving business and customer needs in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel across APAC and work effectively across different countries, cultures, customer segments, and technical maturity levels.
