APAC_Functional Testers (Philippines)

Overview

We are looking for a Junior Software Tester to join our banking technology team in Makati. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing manual testing of banking applications and ensuring that systems meet functional, quality, and business requirements.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is starting their career in Software Quality Assurance (QA) and wants to gain experience working in a banking/financial services environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute manual test cases based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing as required.
• Review requirements and user stories to identify test scenarios and potential issues.
• Prepare and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test data.
• Document, track, and report defects using the appropriate testing/defect management tools.
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other QA team members to investigate and resolve issues.
• Perform retesting and regression testing after defects are fixed.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint testing activities.
• Validate that applications meet expected functionality, usability, and quality standards.
• Assist with test execution and documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support production validation and other testing activities when required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in software testing
• Basic understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Knowledge of manual testing methodologies and defect life cycle.
• Ability to create and execute test cases and test scenarios.
• Basic understanding of SQL/database concepts is an advantage.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or other defect/test management tools is a plus.
• Experience or exposure to Agile/Scrum is preferred.
• Banking or financial services experience is an advantage but not required.
