We are seeking a skilled and motivated Application Engineer to join our development team. You will develop and optimize software applications that bridge technical teams and end-users, addressing business needs through innovative solutions and enhancing member or internal user experiences. Design, code, test, and deploy solutions that address business requirements while leveraging the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis and design. Ensure system improvements are implemented and monitored to enhance efficiency. Solve a range of mostly straightforward problems with some increased scope and complexity. Developing professional with basic skill set and proficiency with procedures and techniques.

  • Design, develop, and optimize high-quality software applications using various programming languages and frameworks that meet business requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical team members to gather and analyze requirements, propose innovative solutions, and ensure timely task completion
  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code that adheres to industry best practices and organizational coding standards
  • Implement efficient data structures and algorithms, optimizing code for performance, scalability, and user experience
  • Conduct and participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain a high-quality codebase
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to application functionality, performance, and bugs; escalate as required
  • Participate in team projects and initiatives, contributing to collective success and continuous improvement
  • Generate and adhere to application and software development engineering policies, standards, and procedures
  • Continuously learn from individual and team experiences, fostering growth and improvement through collaboration and continuous feedback
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training or experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in web application development and Internet of Things using Java-based frameworks
  • Basic understanding of business and operating environment
  • Knowledge of software development principles, methodologies (including Agile), and version control systems
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, SpringBoot)
  • 3+ years of production support experience
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience with programming languages and development tools, such as SQL, Python, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS, with exposure to modern frameworks and libraries
  • Knowledge of database structures, web technologies, and technical applications, with foundational skills in designing simple solutions
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills for addressing straightforward software functionality and performance issues
  • Ability to write clean and maintainable code while learning to adhere to industry and organizational coding standards
  • Exposure to software testing concepts and methods to support application reliability
  • Written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical concepts and collaborating with team members and stakeholders
  • Experience with customer support tools, ticketing systems, and knowledge base platforms for addressing basic technical issues
  • Working knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and their role in improving application performance and scalability
  • Participation in team projects, with opportunities to contribute to code reviews and learn from feedback to enhance skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Knowledge of distributed databases and storage systems (e.g., Cassandra, Redis, etc.)
  • Exposure to observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)

Hours:

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM *flexibility is needed for deployments and production support
