The Role

We are seeking a Nagoya-area Application Engineer to support Japanese customers with drawing review, DFM, process selection, quotations, sampling, and NPI coordination. This is a remote contract role with occasional pre-arranged customer visits.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, tolerances, materials, and application requirements.

• Discuss MIM, CNC machining, tooling, secondary operations, finishing, and inspection options.

• Coordinate RFQs, DFM feedback, technical proposals, samples, and engineering changes.

• Translate customer requirements and feedback into clear actions for Yibi’s China-based teams.

• Support technical meetings and maintain concise issue and milestone tracking.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant application, product, project, design, or manufacturing engineering experience is preferred.

• Ability to read mechanical drawings and discuss GD&T, tolerances, materials, DFM, and inspection.

• Experience with MIM, CNC machining, tooling, automotive, electronics, or other precision components is valuable.

• Professional Japanese and working English.

• Legal ability to provide contract services from Japan and willingness to travel occasionally when agreed in advance.
