Application Engineer (Part-Time, Automotive HVAC & Electrical) Remote / Southeast Michigan $40 to $50 per hour, plus a $20,000 to $30,000 annual guarantee The role A premier automotive electronics supplier is looking for a highly experienced technical engineer for a part-time, consulting-style role. This is peer-to-peer engineering engagement, not sales. You will use your technical depth and your existing relationships inside GM, Ford or Stellantis to help win and shape technical business. What you'll do Maintain and build technical relationships within HVAC and electrical engineering divisions at GM, Ford or Stellantis Translate incoming technical RFQs and help structure the response Engage OEM engineering contacts engineer to engineer, diagnosing pain points and opening early conversations Work alongside internal sales executives to follow up on live opportunities What you'll need Background as a Design Release Engineer (DRE), Chief Engineer or Commodity Engineer at GM, Ford or Stellantis Specialist domain experience in HVAC and electrical systems A live network inside OEM engineering Comfortable working independently with minimal structure Why it's worth a look This suits an engineer who wants to stay close to the industry without a full-time commitment.
