Business Application Support Engineer – Financial Services | Contract | Luxembourg

• Contract: Initial 9 months, with potential for extension
• Working Pattern: Onsite for the first 3 months, followed by hybrid working (3 days per week in the office)

About the Opportunity

Skillfinder International is working with a leading global financial services organisation to recruit an experienced Business Application Support Engineer for an initial 9-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established financial institution, supporting business-critical applications across fund accounting, private equity and reconciliation operations.

The successful candidate will take ownership of application environments, deployments, releases and integrations, ensuring the stability, performance and continuous improvement of key business platforms, including Investran.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, configure and maintain application environments across Development, Test, UAT and Production on Linux and Windows servers.
• Manage application deployments, upgrades and releases in line with established change management processes.
• Investigate and resolve application incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions.
• Provide technical and functional application support to business users.
• Develop, configure and maintain application integrations, including APIs, batch processes and file-based interfaces.
• Work with Oracle and MS SQL Server databases to perform queries, data validation and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, database, security and external vendor teams.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks and environment inventories.
• Ensure applications comply with internal controls, audit standards and regulatory requirements.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience supporting enterprise business applications within a production environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments.
• Experience with SQL, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Hands-on experience in application configuration, deployment and release management.
• Understanding of application integrations, APIs, batch processing and file transfers.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and incident management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.

Desirable Experience

• Experience supporting Investran, private equity, fund accounting or fund administration applications.
• Exposure to reconciliation platforms and financial data processing.
• Previous experience within banking, asset servicing or financial services.
• Scripting knowledge in PowerShell, Bash or Python.
• Familiarity with ITIL frameworks, ITSM tools and change management processes.
