We are looking for an Amazing: Application Support / IT Operations Engineer (HYBRID @Porto)

Seniority: 11+ years of experience in an application/service environment

Location: 3x per week - Porto

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT Operations or Software Engineering.
• Strong experience in Application Production Support, preferably in a banking environment.
• Experience providing L1/L2 technical and functional support, managing incidents and service requests, and troubleshooting production environments.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CLI and Shell Scripting.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language, preferably Python and/or Bash.
• Hands-on experience with at least one Cloud provider (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud).
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Ansible and Docker.
• Good knowledge of Kubernetes and infrastructure automation, particularly Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience with PL/SQL and database-related troubleshooting.
• Experience with application and infrastructure monitoring tools, preferably Dynatrace.
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Travis or Concourse.
• Ability to analyse system, middleware and application logs to identify and resolve issues.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices, service monitoring and incident management.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with international teams.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
• Availability to work in a 24/7 production support environment, including shifts, on-call rotations, weekends and public holidays.

• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certification.
• Developing Advanced Automation with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (DO374) certification.
• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (003) certification.
• HashiCorp Certified: Vault Associate (002) certification.

What will be your responsibilities?

• Provide technical and functional production support for applications within the Wealth Management IT Data Platform.
• Handle incidents, service requests and application support activities, ensuring compliance with Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
• Monitor and supervise the technical and functional components of applications to ensure service availability and reliability.
• Analyse logs, identify root causes and troubleshoot application, system and middleware issues.
• Manage application releases and support the technical integration of applications.
• Maintain and improve application documentation, knowledge articles and operational procedures.
• Build and maintain Ansible playbooks and Terraform scripts to automate provisioning, configuration and deployments.
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives, automation and operational efficiency.
• Support Disaster Recovery (DR) and Live Play activities.
• Participate in knowledge transfer sessions with application development teams and validate operational readiness for application changes.
• Escalate risks and operational issues in a timely manner to the relevant leads.
• Collaborate with development teams and global Application Production Support (APS) teams to ensure stable production services.
• Support and share knowledge with other operations team members on Ansible, Docker and Kubernetes.
