Applications Developer
RTCJOB SUMMARY
The Applications Developer supports the creation and maintenance of internal and customer-facing custom web applications and console apps, including design, development, testing, deployment, support, and maintenance activities. This position is a hands-on role that will require excellent communication skills, problem-solving and analytical skills, and a strong customer focus, working under the guidance of senior team members as skills develop.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meets with internal and external clients to understand needs and gather requirements.
- Assists in designing solutions to business problems, with guidance from senior developers on complex or data-intensive challenges.
- Codes, tests, documents, and deploys console and web applications.
- Helps maintain and support the existing application portfolio, including troubleshooting and resolving problem tickets, coding enhancements, providing user training, and preparing documentation.
- Contributes to back-end integrations with ERP systems and other applications, building experience with stored procedures and triggers over time.
- Ensures application performance and reliability with thorough testing and monitoring.
- Ensures that all code meets security best practices and complies with cybersecurity policies.
- Evaluates and participates in the implementation of new and existing technologies, services, and platforms supporting custom applications.
- Shares knowledge and experience with other IT team members, willingly takes on new challenges, and learns new things.
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a technology-related degree, or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of experience developing ASP.NET Core console apps, web services, and web applications using object-oriented programming, the MVC Framework, and C# and JavaScript in an IIS environment.
- 1-3 years of experience with Oracle databases, stored procedures and triggers, and PL/SQL.
- Strong data and analytical skills; ability to learn and reason through data relationships and business problems.
- Comfort meeting with internal and external clients to understand needs, with support from senior staff in designing solutions.
- Exposure to web application design, including user interface design, database interactions, and reporting.
- Working understanding of application and web security concepts (e.g., authentication, OWASP Top 10 awareness); willingness to build deeper expertise in identity/authentication (SAML, MFA) and code scanning on the job.
- Strong communication skills.
- Willingness to maintain and enhance both modern and existing/legacy applications while supporting ongoing modernization efforts.
- Ability to troubleshoot application issues using debugging tools, logs, and database queries.
- Experience with or exposure to Git or other source control systems.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience developing or supporting back-end integrations with ERP systems.
- Exposure to project management (building and executing project plans, tracking scope/timeline/budget).

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is budgeted for $61,746-$93,854, with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary depends on various factors and could be above or below the range depending on the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, specific skills, level of education, business needs, and market demand. The full salary range for this role reflects this position's competitive labor market value and provides an opportunity to progress as associates grow and develop within the role. Bonuses are paid based on RTC’s financial results. Any payouts awarded in the first year of employment are pro-rated based on the start date. Program rules are subject to change at management’s discretion.
