Job Overview

The Applied AI & Enablement Intern will work alongside Genmab business colleagues and technical partners to turn everyday workflow challenges into practical AI solutions. Combining a consulting approach with hands-on delivery, the intern will help discover and evaluate use cases, build and test small pilots, and enable colleagues to adopt approved AI tools, including Codex. The role also includes Tier 1 and guided Tier 2 support, using questions and issues from users to improve solutions and learning resources.

What you’ll do

  • Conduct discovery conversations with business colleagues to understand their workflows, pain points, and goals; translate findings into clear AI use-case briefs with requirements, expected value, and measurable success criteria.
  • Assess and prioritize AI use cases with a mentor based on business value, feasibility, data readiness, and risk; recommend a practical approach and define the scope of a small pilot.
  • Build and test lightweight AI workflow prototypes, reusable prompts, or simple automations using approved tools; gather user feedback, compare results with the current process, and document limitations and next steps.
  • Support colleagues new to Codex through beginner-friendly walkthroughs, hands-on exercises, and office hours; help them describe tasks clearly, review proposed changes, test results, and troubleshoot common questions using approved guidance.
  • Develop and update quick-start guides, FAQs, short demonstrations, and role-specific examples for approved AI tools; check instructions and examples before publication.
  • Design and help deliver role-specific onboarding, hands-on workshops, and office hours; connect tool demonstrations to real business tasks and help colleagues apply what they learn.
  • Provide Tier 1 support by logging and categorizing requests, helping colleagues with onboarding and common usage questions, and resolving documented issues within assigned permissions.
  • Provide guided Tier 2 support by reproducing more complex issues, gathering relevant error details, testing approved troubleshooting steps, and documenting findings with a mentor.
  • Escalate unresolved technical issues, access changes, and privacy or security concerns to the appropriate owner, with clear reproduction steps and a record of actions taken.
  • Turn recurring questions and resolved issues into searchable knowledge articles and troubleshooting guides; keep content current as tools and workflows change.
  • Track support volumes, recurring issues, response and resolution times, and learner feedback; prepare a concise weekly summary and recommend specific improvements.
  • Deliver a capstone project from discovery through a tested pilot and user enablement; present the business problem, solution, measured results, limitations, and recommendations, and prepare a clear handoff for the team.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience using generative AI tools through coursework, projects, or work, including writing prompts, checking outputs for accuracy, and recognizing when a response needs verification.
  • Ability to break down a business workflow, gather user requirements, and define how an improvement could be measured, demonstrated through coursework or project experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a software issue systematically, reproduce the problem, record relevant details, and explain when escalation is needed.
  • Ability to create clear step-by-step instructions and explain a digital workflow to people with different levels of technical experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel for organizing and summarizing data, PowerPoint for learning materials, and Teams for collaboration.
  • Understanding of basic data privacy and information security practices, including handling sensitive information appropriately and following approved access and tool-use policies.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience tutoring, delivering training, providing peer technology support, or working on a help desk through a campus role, volunteer work, or an internship.
  • Familiarity with support ticketing or knowledge-management tools, such as ServiceNow, Jira, SharePoint, or similar platforms.
  • Experience creating short instructional videos, learning guides, knowledge articles, or hands-on exercises.
  • Experience using Codex or similar AI coding tools through coursework or personal projects, including reviewing generated changes and checking results.
  • Experience in a consulting project, business analysis assignment, product prototype, hackathon, or technology implementation involving user needs and a practical deliverable.
  • Exposure to enterprise AI assistants, such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar tools, and their use in everyday business workflows.
  • Basic Python, SQL, or low-code automation experience, and an interest in using these skills to improve support reporting or routine processes.
  • Interest in applying technology in a life sciences environment and learning how employees use AI responsibly.
