6-month contract with a path to permanent or a Learning Advisor role · Sydney CBD, Hybrid · $60K base, $75K OTE pro rata + super

Every week, hundreds of parents reach out to Cluey because they’re worried about their child. Maybe a maths mark has slipped, the HSC is looming, a selective exam is coming up, or their kid has just stopped believing they’re good at school. You’ll be the first person they speak to.

This is a phone-based role with no cold calling and no closing. Every parent you call has already asked us for help. Your job is to have a genuine conversation: understand what’s going on with their child, find out what they’re hoping will change, and connect them with one of our Learning Advisors for a deeper consultation.

What you’ll do

  • Call parents who’ve enquired about tutoring and get to know their situation, including year level, subjects, how things are going, and what they’ve already tried

  • Build rapport quickly with parents who are often stressed, unsure, or comparing options

  • Ask good questions to understand what’s really driving the enquiry, not just the surface answer

  • Transfer parents live to a Learning Advisor, or book them in for a consultation

  • Write clear handover notes so the Learning Advisor can pick up where you left off

  • Keep our CRM accurate and up to date

  • Work toward weekly call and booking targets, supported by our sales and operations teams

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in a phone-based or customer-facing role. Appointment setting, call centre, customer service, retail, hospitality, or teaching all count.

  • A warm, natural way of talking to people, and the ability to put a worried parent at ease

  • Curiosity: you like asking questions and actually listen to the answers

  • Organisation and attention to detail

  • Full working rights in Australia

  • A current Working with Children Check, or willingness to get one

  • A bonus, not a must: familiarity with the NSW school system or the education sector

The details

  • $75,000 OTE pro rata ($60,000 base + commission) + super

  • 6-month fixed-term contract, with the option to move into a permanent role or step up to a Learning Advisor position

  • Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. During peak periods, we may ask for some later shifts, finishing no later than 7pm.

  • Hybrid: Monday and Tuesday from home, Wednesday to Friday in our Sydney CBD office

  • You’ll work closely with our sales and operations teams, with full training on our process, systems, and programs
