A Business Operations Assistant / Data Apprentice is needed to join The Legal Director (TLD), a specialist legal services business supporting growing companies across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright, numerate and curious individual looking to build a career in business operations, data analysis and technology, combining practical experience with structured apprenticeship training and mentoring.
The Legal Director provides established SMEs and growing businesses with access to experienced senior lawyers without the cost of employing a full time General Counsel. Combining commercial expertise, smart technology and a practical approach, TLD helps businesses make better decisions, manage risk and grow with confidence.
This newly created role goes far beyond traditional administration, in-fact you'll be actively encouraged to be curious, make suggestions and provide real-world input. Working closely with the Business Operations Lead, you'll help keep the business organised, its data accurate and its processes running smoothly, while developing valuable technical and analytical skills.
On a day to day basis, you'll maintain CRM records, update spreadsheets and reports, investigate data discrepancies and support proposals, meetings, marketing activity and wider business administration. Alongside these responsibilities, you'll develop skills in Excel, Power Query, Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform, gradually progressing towards creating dashboards, improving reporting and automating everyday processes. Over time you'll become the internal Business Intelligence and Automation champion!
This is an apprenticeship opportunity therefore we're looking for potential, not experience. You might be leaving school or college, exploring alternatives to university or looking to start a career in business and technology. What matters is that you enjoy working with numbers, have a logical mind, take pride in getting things right and are equally happy handling routine tasks as learning new skills.
To qualify: You should be an aspiring Data Analyst / Business Analyst / Operations Assistant or a motivated individual with an application that demonstrates
- Strong numeracy, logical thinking and an analytical mindset
- Basic Excel knowledge or a genuine interest in developing spreadsheet skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to accuracy
- Curiosity about technology, data and how businesses operate
- Good organisation, reliability and willingness to take responsibility
- Clear communication skills and confidence asking questions
- Enthusiasm for learning new skills and completing a structured apprenticeship programme
No previous office experience or degree is required. Your attitude, aptitude and willingness to learn are far more important. Entry to the apprenticeship will be subject to the training provider's eligibility and initial assessment requirements.
In return, you'll receive a starting salary of £22,000, hybrid working in London and a supported apprenticeship combining practical experience, formal training, paid study time and mentoring. The proposed development pathway is a Level 4 Data Analyst or Business Analyst apprenticeship, subject to final confirmation with an approved training provider.
You'll join a supportive team where you can build valuable business and technical skills, with the opportunity to progress towards a specialist career in Business Intelligence, reporting and automation.
