About the role

Your job is to stop receivables from aging. Not to chase them once they already have.

Collection is a dedicated function here, separate from Sales. Sellers own the relationship and the deal. You own the cash. That means getting invoices paid on time, catching risk before the due date, and escalating early when a customer starts to slip.

You will build real working relationships with customer finance teams across Singapore and the

Philippines. You will also need the maturity to be firm when goodwill runs out: payment plans with teeth, suspension of service where the contract allows it, and handover to external recovery when that is the right call.

This role suits someone who can be warm on Monday and immovable on Friday, and is comfortable being both.

Above all, we want a CloudMile Rockstar. Someone who owns the outcome, raises the bar for the team around them, and makes collection a function people respect, not one they avoid.

What you will do

Prevent aging before it starts

  • Own the AR ledger for Singapore and Philippines customers from invoice issue to cash received.
  • Confirm invoice receipt, PO match and approval status with customer finance teams before the due date, not after.
  • Flag at risk accounts early: disputed invoices, missing POs, changes in payment behaviour, finance contact turnover, signs of cash stress.
  • Fix the upstream causes of late payment with Sales and Finance, such as billing errors, wrong entities, missing documents and unclear payment terms.

Build relationships with customer finance

  • Be the known, trusted contact for each customer's AP and finance team.
  • Learn each customer's payment cycle, approval chain and cut off dates, and plan follow ups around them.
  • Handle disputes quickly and factually, pulling in sellers or delivery leads only when needed.

Be firm when required

  • Run a clear escalation path: reminder, formal demand, senior finance escalation, service suspension, external recovery.
  • Work with CloudMile Legal on the issuance of demand letters, from preparing the case file and payment history to timing and follow through.
  • Craft repayment plans together with Legal and Account Managers, so each plan is commercially realistic, legally enforceable and agreed with the customer in writing.
  • Keep tight monitoring of every scheduled payment. Chase on the due date, escalate on the first missed milestone, and enforce the agreed consequences without exception.
  • Recommend administrative account suspension where contract terms allow, and manage the customer conversation that follows.
  • Prepare cases for third party debt collectors or legal handover, and track recovery progress.

Run the weekly cadence

  • Run a weekly AR status session with country sellers before any follow up goes out, so the customer hears one consistent message.
  • Run a weekly AR brief to the Country Leader and Head of Sales covering aging, risks, commitments and escalations needing a decision.
  • Maintain the live AR tracker, including repayment plan progress and debt collector recovery status, as the single source of truth for Sales and Finance.

Who you are

Experience

  • 4 to 5 years in B2B credit control, AR or collections, ideally for technology, SaaS or professional services. Must have independently managed complex or escalated customer accounts and be comfortable engaging directly with senior customer finance stakeholders.
  • Hands on experience collecting from customers in Singapore and the Philippines, or comparable ASEAN markets.
  • Track record of reducing DSO or overdue AR, with numbers to show for it.
  • Experience negotiating repayment plans and working with external collection agencies or legal counsel.
  • Experience independently managing difficult or sensitive collection situations without requiring day-to-day supervision.
  • Comfortable working across multiple countries, sales teams and finance stakeholders as a shared regional resource.

Skills

  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets. Comfortable with accounting systems such as NetSuite, and building a live tracker from finance data.
  • Clear written English and spoken Mandarin. Can write a demand letter that is firm, professional and leaves no room for misreading.
  • Working knowledge of commercial payment terms, invoicing, PO processes and basic contract clauses on payment and suspension.

Character

  • Relationship builder. Customer finance teams pick up your call because they trust you.
  • Firm without being hostile. You can say no, hold a line and escalate without burning the relationship.
  • Comfortable pushing back on internal teams, including senior sellers, when the facts say so.
  • Organised and relentless on follow through. Nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Independent. You are based in Malaysia with the right to work there, work partly remotely and do not need daily supervision to keep the week moving.

Nice to have

  • Experience with cloud reseller or hyperscaler partner billing models (Google Cloud, AWS), including usage based invoicing.
  • Familiarity with collections processes during IPO readiness or audit scrutiny.
  • Spoken Tagalog.
  • Credit management certification (for example ICM or equivalent).
