Job Description
Location: Remote – South Africa
Working Hours: UK Business Hours
Job Type: Full-time
About the Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of an established UK-based interior architectural design consultancy specialising in high-end bespoke joinery, cabinetry and luxury interior fit-out projects.
Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Architectural Joinery CAD Technician to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in cabinet making, bespoke joinery or technical design who is looking to develop their skills while working on prestigious, highly customised projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced industry professional, gaining valuable technical knowledge and contributing to the production of detailed drawings for luxury interior projects.
Key Responsibilities
Produce accurate technical CAD drawings for bespoke cabinetry, architectural joinery and interior fitout projects.
Develop detailed construction drawings, sections and elevations.
Understand how bespoke joinery components are manufactured, assembled and installed.
Assist in translating design concepts into practical, buildable technical solutions.
Research materials, construction methods and technical details for unique projects.
Work collaboratively with the wider team to meet project deadlines.
Gradually take ownership of technical drawing packages and work independently.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years' experience in joinery, cabinetry, furniture design, or interior fit-out.
Working knowledge of CAD and 3D design software.
Strong understanding of cabinet construction, joinery methods and technical detailing.
Ability to produce accurate and detailed technical drawings.
Understanding of interior architecture and bespoke furniture design.
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
Willingness to learn, take direction and adapt to new working methods.
Degree or relevant qualification in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Furniture Design or a related field is desirable.
Ideal Candidate
Our client is particularly interested in candidates who have a cabinet-making or practical joinery background combined with CAD experience.
They value practical construction knowledge and a willingness to learn over someone who is highly experienced but inflexible in their approach.
The ideal candidate will be curious, proactive, reliable, and comfortable researching technical solutions for bespoke projects where standard construction details may not apply.
What's on Offer
Fully remote opportunity working with an established UK business.
Exposure to luxury residential interiors and high-end bespoke joinery projects.
Direct mentorship from an experienced industry specialist.
Opportunity to develop advanced technical drawing and detailing skills.
Long-term career development within a growing business.
Competitive remuneration based on experience.
