Role: Architecture & System Requirements Engineer

Location: Matosinhos, Porto

Type of contract: permanent, full-time

WE ARE LOOKING FOR


Addvolt is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Architecture & System Requirements Engineer to join our Systems & Application Engineering team. The ideal candidate will define system architectures, capture and manage requirements, and ensure alignment between customer needs, business objectives, regulatory obligations and technical implementation for Addvolt electrification solutions.

This role requires a strong systems-thinking mindset, structured problem-solving and the ability to collaborate across Product Management, Electrical, Mechanical, Software teams throughout the product development.

As an Architecture & System Requirements Engineer, you will:


  • Define, analyse and manage stakeholder, customer and system requirements for new products, applications and technology platforms.
  • Develop and maintain high-level system architectures, functional decompositions, interfaces and operating concepts for multidisciplinary systems.
  • Translate customer, business, regulatory and safety needs into clear, verifiable and testable technical requirements.
  • Maintain bidirectional traceability between stakeholder needs, system requirements, subsystem requirements, design solutions and verification activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency between system architecture, implementation, integration and validation.
  • Define system interfaces and support integration planning across electrical, mechanical, software, controls and communication domains.
  • Lead or support system architecture and requirements reviews, including technical trade-off studies and concept evaluations.
  • Identify system-level technical risks, assumptions and dependencies, and support mitigation activities throughout development.
  • Support verification and validation planning by defining acceptance criteria and ensuring coverage of system requirements.
  • Create and maintain system engineering documentation within the applicable configuration and change-management processes.

CANDIDATE VALUES AND QUALIFICATIONS


  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Product Architecture, Requirements Engineering or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering methodologies, product development processes and multidisciplinary system integration.
  • Demonstrated experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, decomposition, specification, traceability and change management.
  • Ability to develop functional and physical architectures and define interfaces between subsystems.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with system architecture and modelling tools, preferably CATIA Magic and Enterprise Architect or equivalent.
  • Experience with automotive, commercial vehicles, transport refrigeration, energy systems or power electronics.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety, environmental and product-compliance standards.
  • Experience with FMEA, verification and validation planning, configuration management or Agile development practices.

Pay Range

€22,000.00-€44,000.00
