Job Description

Marine Data Cloud Ltd, a company based in London, England, is actively developing and running TheBoatApp, a software platform addressed to the boating community and the recreational marine industry in general. Our mission is to provide a 360 degrees seamless experience and unified access of users’ boating data, including logbook, maintenance, inventory, tasks, documents, alerts, etc. A place for everything and everything in its place!

TheBoatApp is powered by the TheBoatDB, the centralized database of all user data, including technical boat data and metrics, marine ratios (e.g. sail area/displacement) and comparison functions. TheBoatApp aspires to be the “Marine Data Cloud” provider, the single piece of data repository needed by boaters and the recreational marine industry, being able to glue together their currently fragmented data (e.g. inventory, maintenance, logbook, documents, etc) as well as systems (e.g. fuel/water sensors, etc). In brief, boaters’ marine life, fully catalogued, organised and backed-up, accessible from anywhere on any device, on-line as well as off-line. Both platforms are interworking, providing service to thousands of boat users over five continents and seven seas.

We consider empathy and collaboration as key elements to make things happen in a meaningful way. We want, and keep, the full team updated on the big-picture, even if it is not directly in their domain to deal with. We believe that a meaningful career means being in touch with the end-product. This is what makes people happy and products great!

We advocate of smart work, over plain-hard work, and we strive to adopt best industry practices and tools to do so. We believe that technology can be the means to being more effective and efficient thus we design with this principle in mind. Like fellow seafarers all over the globe, we do not have geographic barriers, embracing modern tools facilitating effective online collaboration, already having members of our team thousands of miles away and in full-sync and productivity with the rest of the team.
