Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Job Title: AI Engineer (Contract)

Location: Remote (1 year, then relocate to Abu Dhabi)

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, develop, and evaluate advanced AI and machine learning systems, with a focus on large language models (LLMs), Transformer architectures, federated learning, and privacy preserving ML (PPML). You will work closely with cryptography and security researchers to translate cutting-edge research into scalable, production-ready systems and prototypes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build LLM training, fine-tuning, and inference pipelines with a focus on scalability and performance.
• Develop federated and distributed learning systems with privacy-preserving mechanisms (differential privacy, secure aggregation)
• Integrate cryptographic techniques including MPC and homomorphic encryption into AI/ML workflows
• Lead proofs of concept and rigorous benchmarks covering model quality, communication overhead, and privacy trade-offs
• Translate state-of-the-art research into robust, maintainable software prototypes
• Mentor junior engineers and uphold strong software engineering and documentation practices

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant professional or research experience in ML engineering or applied AI
• Strong hands-on experience with LLMs, Transformer architectures, and PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Solid understanding of federated learning, distributed ML, and privacy-preserving techniques
• Strong Python skills; C++ or Rust experience is an advantage
• Experience with Flower, differential privacy, secure aggregation, MPC, or homomorphic encryption is highly valued
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to independently tackle complex technical challenges
