Artificial Intelligence Engineer

We are hiring a full-time AI Engineer to support a US-based consulting firm that works with agencies, consultancies, creative studios, production companies, and B2B service businesses. The company helps service-based businesses improve their operations, streamline workflows, and scale more efficiently.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on building, implementing, and maintaining AI-powered solutions. You'll be responsible for developing AI agents, automating workflows, integrating AI tools with existing systems, and creating custom applications that improve operational efficiency. You'll work closely with the internal team to turn business requirements into functional, reliable AI solutions.

The ideal candidate has strong programming skills, extensive experience working with AI technologies, and the ability to independently develop and deploy solutions. We're looking for someone who is highly technical, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of projects from development through implementation. Full-time. Fully remote. Must be ENGLISH-SPEAKING.

Hours: 9am–5pm CST (40 hours per week).

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications, agents, and automated workflows.
• Build custom AI solutions using large language models (LLMs), including OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini.
• Develop AI agents capable of performing tasks such as data extraction, research, document processing, reporting, and customer communication.
• Build and maintain automated workflows using tools such as n8n, Make, and Zapier.
• Integrate AI applications with existing business systems, including CRMs, project management platforms, databases, and communication tools.
• Develop and maintain API integrations, webhooks, and custom scripts to connect different platforms.
• Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems and AI-powered knowledge bases.
• Develop backend services and supporting infrastructure for AI applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code using Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar programming languages.
• Test, debug, and optimize AI applications to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance.
• Monitor AI workflows, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement improvements.
• Manage data processing, database integrations, and information retrieval for AI-powered systems.
• Implement appropriate security measures to protect sensitive business and client information.
• Maintain technical documentation for AI applications, integrations, and automated workflows.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand technical requirements and deliver functional solutions.
• Stay up to date with AI development tools, frameworks, and technologies.

Key Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, AI engineering, automation development, or a related technical role.
• Proven experience building and deploying AI-powered applications and automated workflows.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience working with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs, including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or Google Gemini.
• Strong understanding of prompt engineering, AI agents, LLM orchestration, and structured outputs.
• Experience with AI development frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar.
• Proficiency with automation platforms such as n8n, Make, or Zapier.
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations.
• Familiarity with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Supabase, or pgvector.
• Experience developing RAG pipelines, embeddings, and semantic search applications.
• Strong understanding of SQL databases, PostgreSQL, and database management.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, and version control best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize AI applications independently.
• Understanding of authentication, API security, data privacy, and secure development practices.
• Experience testing AI outputs and implementing safeguards to improve accuracy and reliability.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of technical projects, and deliver solutions with minimal supervision.
• Strong English communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
• Must own and be able to use a working computer with high-speed internet.
• Must be ENGLISH-SPEAKING.

Nice to Have:

• Experience building multi-agent systems and autonomous AI workflows.
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and AI tool integrations.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or GitHub Copilot.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and production deployment environments.
• Experience developing applications using FastAPI, Flask, Node.js, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with React or Next.js for building interfaces for AI-powered applications.
• Experience integrating AI with platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, GoHighLevel, Slack, ClickUp, Asana, or Notion.
• Experience with AI monitoring, evaluation, and observability tools such as LangSmith or Langfuse.
• Experience working with consulting firms, agencies, or other B2B service businesses.
