Job Summary

The client is looking for an experienced AS/400 Developer to develop, maintain, and support applications running on the IBM i platform. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in RPG programming, CL, DB2/400, and application maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform.
• Write and maintain RPG, RPGLE, and CL/CLLE programs.
• Work with DB2/400 databases, including SQL queries, stored procedures, and database optimization.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues, debug programs, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Support application modernization, performance tuning, and system integration.
• Prepare technical documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in AS/400 or IBM i development.
• Strong knowledge of RPG, RPGLE, and CL/CLLE programming.
• Hands-on experience with DB2/400 and SQL.
• Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, and application maintenance.
• Knowledge of IBM i operating systems, job scheduling, and batch processing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with RPG Free Format and ILE concepts.
• Knowledge of IBM i tools such as SDA, RDi, and SEU.
• Experience with application modernization and system integrations.
• Experience in banking, financial services, or other enterprise environments.
