Asset Integrity Engineer | Energy & Resources
Philippines | Remote Delivery Supporting Australian Project Teams
- Build specialist capability in storage tank integrity and fitness-for-service assessment
- Deliver finite element models, calculations and technical reports for degraded API 650 storage tanks
- Learn directly from senior engineers while contributing to high-quality Australian project delivery
The Opportunity
Fyfe is strengthening its offshore asset integrity delivery capability, and we're looking for an Asset Integrity Engineer to support our growing portfolio of storage tank assessment work.
Reporting to the Section Manager, you'll work remotely from the Philippines as part of Fyfe's offshore delivery team, collaborating closely with Australian-based engineers and project managers. You'll undertake engineering calculations, finite element analysis, data reviews and technical reporting, with a particular focus on degraded above-ground metal storage tanks.
This is an opportunity to develop specialist expertise while contributing to real project outcomes. With guidance and technical review from senior engineers, you'll build your capability in tank integrity engineering, Strand7 modelling and the application of API standards, taking on greater autonomy as your experience grows.
The Impact You'll Have
- Deliver asset integrity, fitness-for-service and remaining-life assessments for above-ground storage tanks and related infrastructure.
- Develop axisymmetric finite element models in Strand7, applying approved inputs, modelling methods and acceptance criteria.
- Turn design, inspection, operating and condition data into clear, traceable calculations, models and technical reports.
- Support the assessment of corrosion, cracking, fatigue, distortion and other service-related degradation.
- Strengthen technical quality by identifying data gaps, documenting assumptions and uncertainties, completing self-checks and incorporating review feedback accurately.
- Work with Australian-based project teams and other engineering disciplines to deliver coordinated outcomes within agreed scope, quality, budget and schedule requirements.
What You'll Bring
You'll bring a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and the curiosity to develop specialist capability in storage tank integrity assessment.
- A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Foundation knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, stress analysis and the behaviour of metallic structures and equipment.
- The ability to develop accurate and traceable engineering calculations and finite element models under appropriate technical supervision.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by a methodical approach and close attention to detail.
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings, inspection data, material information and operating conditions, and identify missing or inconsistent inputs.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare calculation sheets, technical reports and engineering documentation.
- The organisation, accountability and adaptability to manage assigned work, collaborate across locations and meet project deadlines in a structured remote delivery environment.
It would be great if you also have graduate or early-career experience in mechanical engineering, asset integrity, stress analysis, inspection, design or industrial project delivery. Experience with Strand7 or similar finite element analysis software, together with developing knowledge of API 650, API 653, API 579 and relevant ASME and Australian Standards, would also be valuable.
