Job Purpose

The Network Optimisation Lead is accountable for improving the commercial performance, utilisation and customer experience of an assigned portfolio within the bp pulse UK charging network. Using network, customer and market insight, the role identifies and prioritises optimisation opportunities, leads interventions that improve site performance and profitability, and handles host relationships to deliver sustainable growth and partner value.

Key Responsibilities

Network Performance Optimisation

• Lead the trading performance of an assigned portfolio of charging sites and chargers.
• Analyse site, customer and market data to identify underperformance, growth opportunities and optimisation priorities.
• Develop and deliver portfolio and site-level improvement plans focused on utilisation, customer demand, profitability and experience.
• Benchmark site, charger and host performance to identify improvement opportunities.
• Find opportunities to create additional value through wider bp products, services and customer channels.
• Establish performance reviews and governance processes to track delivery and benefits realisation.

Site & Charger Performance Management

• Run site and charger performance throughout the asset lifecycle.
• Identify and recommend operational, commercial and infrastructure improvements, including expansion, upgrade and rationalisation opportunities.
• Ensure customer-facing site information is accurate and supports customer confidence.
• Partner with Operations, Technology, Digital and Customer teams to improve reliability, accessibility and charging experience.

Host Relationship & Commercial Management

• Act as commercial owner for assigned host relationships.
• Lead performance reviews and engagement with host partners to improve utilisation, customer outcomes and mutual value.
• Handle contractual performance, renewals, amendments, exits and commercial change activity.
• Work with Real Estate, Legal and Commercial teams to negotiate and implement portfolio improvements and growth opportunities.
• Identify host-level growth opportunities and broader commercial initiatives that enhance long-term partner value.

Investment & Network Planning

• Provide network performance insight to support site selection, demand forecasting, investment decisions and portfolio prioritisation.
• Support the transition of newly commissioned sites into active performance management and demand generation.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Lead optimisation initiatives across Commercial, Operations, Customer Growth, Marketing, Pricing, Product, Technology, Digital, Finance, Real Estate and partner teams.
• Drive prioritisation, accountability and delivery of actions that improve customer outcomes, profitability and network performance.
• Translate insight into measurable improvements across the bp pulse charging network.

Success Measures

• Growth in charging sessions, utilisation and kWh delivered.
• Improved site profitability and contribution.
• Increased customer satisfaction, confidence and repeat usage.
• Strong host retention, satisfaction and growth.
• Delivery of optimisation initiatives, contractual improvements and portfolio interventions.
• Improved network planning, forecasting and investment decisions..
