ROLE PURPOSE

The Investment Analyst supports the management of the Vietnam General Account investment portfolio by conducting fundamental investment analysis, monitoring portfolio risks and performance, and supporting investment decision‑making in line with approved investment strategies, policies, and regulatory requirements. The role focuses primarily on fixed income investments, with close interaction with portfolio managers, risk, compliance, actuarial, and regional investment teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Investment Research & Analysis

  • Conduct fundamental investment analysis and establish the set-up to prepare Vietnam portfolio to invest in multi-assets.
  • Prepare investment proposals for new investments, amendments, and renewals in accordance with GA investment policies and procedures.
  • Monitor macroeconomic, interest rate, and market developments relevant to Vietnam and regional fixed income markets.

Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Management

  • Explain performance drivers in terms of EVA.
  • Track existing portfolio holdings and recommend actions as appropriate.
  • Support stress testing, scenario analysis, and risk reporting for the GA portfolio.
  • Ensure investments remain compliant with internal investment guidelines, limits, and regulatory requirements.

Investment Process & Governance

  • Prepare materials and facilitate Investment Committee meetings.
  • Coordinate with compliance, legal, finance, and operations teams to support investment execution and post‑trade processes.
  • Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for investment decisions in line with internal controls and governance standards.
  • Support periodic reviews of investment policies, procedures, and market assumptions.

Reporting & Stakeholder Support

  • Prepare regular portfolio and market reports for IC and ALCO, update stakeholders on any major market events.
  • Support ad‑hoc HOI analysis requests.
  • Contribute to regional GA initiatives, projects, and best‑practice sharing across Asia.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Xxxss years of experience in investment analysis, credit research, fixed income, banking, or asset management.
  • Experience with Vietnam fixed income and equity markets (government bonds, corporate bonds, bank instruments) is required.
  • Exposure to insurance general account portfolios or long‑term institutional investing is an advantage.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Strong financial analysis and valuation skills, including credit analysis and cash flow modeling.
  • Solid understanding of fixed income instruments, interest rate risk, and portfolio concepts.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Bloomberg or similar market data systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work within structured investment and governance frameworks.

Soft Skills & Attributes

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Vietnamese language proficiency required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a regional, cross‑functional environment.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and strong risk awareness.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a disciplined investment environment.
  • Proactive self starter that able to work reliably in a remote reporting setting
  • Tech and AI savvy, able to work productively in a fast-paced environment
