SAP ABAP Developer (SAP BTP)

Position Title : SAP ABAP Developer - SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)

Location : Hybrid / Remote / Onsite

Reports To : ERP Development Manager / SAP Development Lead

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) expertise to design, develop, and support cloud-based SAP solutions and integrations. The ideal candidate will have strong ABAP development skills, experience with SAP BTP services, and a solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture, extensions, integrations, and modern development frameworks.

This role will be responsible for developing scalable and secure applications on SAP BTP while supporting SAP S/4HANA enhancements, APIs, integrations, and cloud extension strategies following SAP Clean Core principles.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Development

• Design, develop, test, and deploy SAP applications using:
• ABAP on Cloud
• RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model)
• CDS Views
• OData Services
• Fiori Applications
• SAP Business Application Studio
• Develop custom extensions for SAP S/4HANA using SAP BTP Extension Suite.
• Build reusable services, APIs, and business applications aligned with SAP best practices.
• Develop and enhance reports, interfaces, forms, workflows, and data conversion programs.
• Understanding clean-core and low code concepts

SAP BTP Development

• Design and implement side-by-side extensions using SAP BTP.
• Utilize SAP BTP services including:
• SAP CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model)
• SAP HANA Cloud
• SAP Integration Suite
• SAP Destination Services
• Identity Authentication Services (IAS)
• Event Mesh
• Workflow Management
• Develop cloud-native applications leveraging SAP BTP development tools.
• Support BTP account setup, transport management, and deployment activities.
• Familiarity with SAP RISE and Clean Core strategy

Integration Development

• Design and develop integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Consume and publish REST, SOAP, and OData APIs.
• Develop integration scenarios using:
• SAP Integration Suite
• SAP API Management
• Event-driven architecture
• Collaborate with middleware and functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

S/4HANA and Data Modeling

• Develop and optimize:
• CDS Views
• AMDPs
• HANA SQL Scripts
• Embedded Analytics
• Support analytical applications and reporting solutions.
• Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and security standards.

Governance and Support

• Follow SAP Clean Core and SAP BTP development standards.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with development guidelines.
• Support DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and transport management processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide application support.
• Maintain technical documentation and knowledge repositories.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.

Experience

• 5+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
• 2+ years of SAP BTP development experience.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA development and extension frameworks.
• Experience developing APIs and integrations using modern SAP technologies.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience working in manufacturing, automotive, or supply chain environments.
