Assistant Professor, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Marion, VA 24354 Apply Overview Position Type Full Time Faculty Education Level Post Graduate Degree Category Education Apply Description Assistant Professor, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Tenure-Track | Remote Emory & Henry University | School of Health Sciences | Department of Clinical Mental Health Counseling Full-time | 12-month appointment | Anticipated start: July 1, 2027 Emory & Henry University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling . This remote faculty position includes limited on-campus responsibilities, including approximately three weeks annually for course intensives, commencement, and activities related to program accreditation. We seek a faculty member who will contribute to our CACREP-accredited M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling , maintain an active scholarly agenda, engage meaningfully with students and colleagues in a virtual environment, and participate in university, professional, and community service. Responsibilities Teach graduate courses in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in an online format, with on-campus intensives. Advise and mentor master's students. Provide clinical supervision for practicum and internship students. Maintain an active research agenda with peer-reviewed publications and professional presentations. Participate as core faculty in program governance and accreditation activities. Contribute to department and university service and professional organizations. Support ongoing curriculum, program, and accreditation development. Maintain a strong virtual presence with students and colleagues. About the Program Emory & Henry University's CACREP-accredited M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is a 60-credit, 24-month online program preparing students for professional counseling practice and licensure. The program emphasizes humanistic values, evidence-based clinical practice, trauma-informed and culturally responsive counseling, and service to diverse communities. Students complete supervised practicum and internship experiences and prepare for practice across a range of clinical settings. Qualifications Required Qualifications Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program . ABD candidates may apply but must complete the doctorate by the contract start date. Eligible for or currently licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent and able to maintain active licensure throughout employment. Demonstrated excellence or clear potential in graduate-level teaching, including online instruction. Established research agenda or demonstrated potential for scholarly productivity. Commitment to working effectively with diverse populations and fostering inclusive learning environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching in an online environment. Clinical and teaching expertise in counseling children and adolescents. Leadership or service experience in professional counseling organizations. Active clinical practice experience; supervision-only experience does not meet this preference.
