The University of Iowa Center for Advancement (UICA) seeks a seasoned and collaborative fundraising executive to serve as Assistant Vice President of Development for Health Sciences. The Assistant Vice President is a leadership role responsible for advancing philanthropy across a complex and growing health care enterprise. Reporting to the Vice President for Health Sciences Development, this position provides strategic leadership for fundraising efforts that support UI Health Care’s clinical mission, including oversight of the Stead Family Children’s Hospital team and the Health Care Philanthropy team.
The Assistant Vice President works closely with the CEO of the clinical enterprise, and other clinical and administrative leaders to develop and execute philanthropic strategies that accelerate institutional priorities, drive transformational private support, and deepen engagement with patients, families, and community members.

The AVP is also a senior frontline fundraiser, managing a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects, demonstrating how to craft complex proposals and motivating a diverse group of donors to make inspirational gifts.
In addition to leading teams, the AVP will be a partner with peers on the executive leadership team and serve as a strategic advisor to the Vice President for Health Sciences Development.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a fundraising leader to shape the future of philanthropy across a nationally recognized health care enterprise and children’s hospital while helping to advance patient care, research, education and innovation through transformative philanthropy.
