Company:

Marsh

Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Private Equity and M&A team, part of our risk business at Marsh. This role will be based in Singapore. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Within our regional Transactional Risk team in Asia, you will work alongside former M&A lawyers to focus exclusively on warranty & indemnity (W&I) insurance and other M&A-related insurance products. You will report to the Transactional Risk Practice Leader for Asia and receive ongoing training, mentoring, and coaching to develop your expertise. As part of the wider Private Equity and M&A (PEMA) Practice in Asia—comprising over 60 risk management specialists—you will help clients, their professional advisors, and colleagues navigate transactional risk insurance in an international context and collaborate with insurers across geographies to place solutions that protect clients' interests.

We will count on you to:

  • Become an expert on transactional risk insurance solutions, the insurers that provide them, and all related matters.
  • Provide expert advice on solution appropriateness, market conditions, insurance strategy, pricing, coverage terms, and required documentation.
  • Execute insurance marketing and placement for clients, including obtaining terms from insurers, designing programmes, managing underwriting processes, and negotiating coverage at competitive prices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with private equity and corporate clients and their professional advisors to secure transactional risk engagements and generate new business.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with insurers' underwriters to ensure clients receive the best possible outcomes for their M&A transactions.
  • Participate in business development initiatives including presentations, workshops, client meetings, and attendance at industry conferences and networking events.

What you need to have:

  • Tertiary qualifications and 2–5 years' PQE in a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal department, with substantial M&A experience (minimum 2 years in private practice), including legal due diligence, drafting and negotiating M&A transaction documents, and meaningful client-facing advisory work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication (native/professional English proficiency), relationship-building, networking, teamwork, empathy, conflict resolution, and adaptability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, the ability to work independently under pressure while managing multiple projects simultaneously, with demonstrated accountability, integrity, and professionalism.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

What makes you stand out?

  • Prior knowledge of and familiarity with W&I insurance, especially through meaningful involvement in W&I workstreams on transactions.
  • Ability to translate complex legal and technical information into accessible language for diverse audiences across different cultures.
  • Meaningful experience and skills in sales, business development, and negotiation.

Why join our team?

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.
  • Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
