The City University of New York's (CUNY) Building Performance Laboratory (CUNY BPL), in partnership with the City of New York, is seeking qualified energy management professionals to join the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) Division of Energy Management (DEM). DEM serves as the central hub for energy management across City government operations. It is responsible for developing the City’s annual Heat, Light, and Power Budget; managing the City's electricity, natural gas, and steam accounts; assisting agency partners in identifying and pursuing energy-saving opportunities; overseeing energy efficiency and clean power generation projects across the City’s portfolio; and implementing best practices in operations and maintenance. DEM is specifically tasked with leading the City's efforts to reduce emissions from City government operations by 40% by 2025 and 50% by 2030 from the baseline.


CUNY BPL seeks to hire an Associate Data Analyst to support property and energy data management for the DEM’s Data Analytics & Reporting Team (DART). The Associate Data Analyst will support data collection from City agencies and other sources while maintaining property data in a Salesforce environment and energy data in a SQL database. This role also supports the compliance process required by Local Law 84 of 2009. Other duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred.


This is a hybrid position working on-site 3 days a week at 1 Centre St, New York, NY 10007. NYC residency may be required for continued employment. Immigration sponsorship is not available.


Pay Range:

$38.46 to $38.46 per hour

These functions include legal assessment and signing of agreements where RFCUNY is named as a fiscal agent; setting up award accounts; preparing sub-awards and assisting PIs in monitoring the work of the recipients of sub-awards; supporting project directors with hiring and managing research project and sponsored program staff; supporting the purchasing and paying for goods and services with grant and program funds; managing financial aspects of projects including accounts receivable, financial reporting, invoicing, budget monitoring, and cost compliance with uniform guidance; ensuring that sponsor financial requirements are met; monitoring compliance with applicable project and financial management rules and laws; supporting the management of independent and external audits and financial reviews; and providing data, information, management expertise, and other supports to CUNY’s research and sponsored programs.
