Associate Director | Estimating Engagement Lead

North Projects is a specialist advisor and consultancy to property, construction, and development projects nationally. We deliver successful project outcomes by managing cost, scope, risk, design, feasibility, and programme. Our clients include State governments, local councils, company boards, financiers, developers, builders, governments, PPP Sponsors and tertiary education providers.

The Opportunity

Our newly created Estimating Engagement Lead opportunity is an integral leadership role ensuring our cost advisory business continues to provide excellent quality, client focused delivery outcomes across civil, marine and energy projects. You will provide strong leadership to our Victorian team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and high performance, whilst partnering with and advising current and new Victorian clients.

About you

To be successful in this role you will need to:

• Lead and deliver cost management and estimating services for major civil infrastructure, marine and/or energy projects in Victoria;
• Oversee project cost planning from early feasibility to delivery, including estimating, value engineering, risk analysis and whole of life costing;
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level professionals, driving capability development and delivery excellence;
• Build and develop trusted client relationships, offering strategic commercial advice and supporting informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycles.

What we are looking for when reviewing your application:

• Strong estimating or QS capability working across civil infrastructure, marine and energy projects;
• Strong understanding of contractor methodologies, delivery models and market behaviour;
• Strong ability to develop total project out-turn CAPEX and OPEX costs;
• Strong commercial judgement with the ability to challenge inputs, clarify scope and test assumptions;
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and guiding cost advisory work across feasibility, business case, project procurement and delivery stages.
