Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Director, HCP Marketing, the Associate Director, HCP Marketing - Health Systems & Long-Term Care leads the development, execution, and optimization of Nuplazid HCP marketing strategy across two priority channels: Health Systems and Long-Term Care (LTC). This role serves as the strategic marketing lead and dedicated partner to the Health Systems team and the LTC sales organization, translating brand strategy into channel-specific customer, value, access, promotional, and pull-through initiatives that support appropriate use of Nuplazid across integrated delivery networks (IDNs), Centers of Excellence (COEs), hospitals, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), and assisted living facilities (ALFs).
The Associate Director owns the integrated channel plan and provides strategic direction across account-based marketing, care pathway and transitions-of-care initiatives, non-personal promotion, customer engagement, and field execution. The role works with substantial autonomy to establish priorities, recommend investment and resource allocation, and align cross-functional stakeholders. Success requires strong expertise in organized customer marketing, Long-Term Care, access dynamics, and multi-stakeholder decision-making, along with disciplined commercial execution and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Health Systems Marketing Strategy & Leadership
- Lead development and execution of the Health Systems channel marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with the Nuplazid brand plan and broader commercial priorities.
- Serve as the strategic marketing partner to the Health Systems organization, identifying customer needs, channel opportunities, barriers to adoption, and required capabilities across IDNs, COEs, hospitals, and key institutions.
- Lead development of account-based resources and value and access materials anchored in real-world evidence (RWE), health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), and healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) data.
- Provide strategic direction for tools that support electronic health record interventions, medication transitions of care, discharge order-set discussions, and care pathway development, in partnership with Health Systems, Medical, Market Access, Health Information and Technology, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance.
- Establish account-planning frameworks and channel priorities that help the field identify, evaluate, and advance system-level opportunities.
- Lead congress- and key opinion leader-related engagement planning relevant to Health Systems in partnership with Brand Development and KOL Engagement.
Long-Term Care Marketing Strategy & Leadership
- Lead development and execution of the LTC channel marketing strategy, ensuring the needs of LTC customers and the LTC sales organization are reflected in brand planning and resource prioritization.
- Serve as the strategic marketing lead to the LTC sales organization, translating customer, market, and field insights into channel-specific initiatives across SNF and ALF settings.
- Own the strategic development and lifecycle management of LTC core visual aids, reprints, leave-behinds, in-service decks, account-planning resources, and facility-directed tools.
- Develop resources that support engagement with Medical Directors, Directors of Nursing, consultant pharmacists, pharmacy stakeholders, administrators, and other decision-makers influencing care for geriatric patient populations.
- Partner with LTC Regional Account Managers and Market Access to develop value and access materials, including HCRU-based resources, that address channel-specific barriers and opportunities.
- Lead marketing support for LTC Marketing/Insights Committee meetings and translate insights into recommendations for channel strategy, messaging, and execution.
- Ensure LTC messaging reflects the clinical, operational, pharmacy, formulary, and multi-stakeholder dynamics of the setting while remaining aligned with the overall Nuplazid core story.
Non-Personal Promotion, CRM & Omnichannel
- Own the integrated annual marketing plan for the Health Systems and LTC channels, including objectives, priorities, key initiatives, sequencing, performance measures, and budget recommendations.
- Lead development and execution of customer relationship management (CRM) and non-personal promotion (NPP) initiatives, including email campaigns, rep-triggered emails (RTEs), digital and banner assets, and other channel-specific engagement approaches.
- Provide strategic direction for HCP-facing website content and updates relevant to Health Systems and LTC, ensuring alignment with channel strategy and omnichannel campaigns.
- Use customer, field, market, and performance insights to identify gaps, recommend optimization, and evolve the channel plan.
Cross-Functional Leadership, Governance, & Execution
- Lead cross-functional planning and decision-making across Sales leadership, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Support Services, Commercial Insights and Analytics, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Sales Training, and Commercial Operations.
- Influence priorities and resolve complex execution issues across functions without direct authority, escalating material risks and trade-offs when appropriate.
- Present channel strategy, priorities, performance, risks, and recommendations to HCP Marketing and Commercial leadership.
- Lead agency and vendor partners, including strategic direction, scope, timelines, deliverables, creative quality, and budget management for assigned workstreams.
- Provide strategic marketing leadership for national and regional sales meetings, including content development, field training materials, and ongoing reinforcement.
- Define success measures, monitor channel and program performance, and recommend changes to strategy, investment, or execution based on results.
- Ensure all materials and programs adhere to the Medical, Legal, and Regulatory review process, legal guidance, corporate policies, and applicable U.S. healthcare laws and regulations.
- Model Acadia values and foster a culture of integrity, quality, accountability, and enterprise collaboration.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, healthcare, life sciences, business administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare commercial roles, including significant HCP marketing and leadership of complex, high-impact marketing workstreams.
- Demonstrated experience developing and leading customer or channel strategy for Health Systems, organized customers, institutional accounts, and/or Long-Term Care settings.
- Experience across both Health Systems and LTC strongly preferred; experience with CNS or neuropsychiatry products and geriatric patient populations preferred.
Key Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to translate RWE, HEOR, and HCRU data into compelling value and access materials.
- Understanding of care pathways, transitions of care, formulary and access considerations, pharmacy engagement, and multi-stakeholder decision-making.
- Proven ability to set strategic direction, prioritize investments, manage budgets, and lead agencies and vendors across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Strong executive communication, cross-functional leadership, and influencing skills, with demonstrated success operating independently in a highly matrixed environment.
- Solid understanding of the Medical, Legal, and Regulatory review process and applicable promotional requirements.
- Launch and new-product commercialization experience preferred.
