The Associate Director, Intelligence is responsible for delivering market, consumer, cultural, and competitive intelligence that informs strategic planning and campaign development across creative, public relations, and integrated marketing initiatives. This role partners closely with strategy, creative, and client teams to transform data and research into actionable insights that drive effective communications and business outcomes.The role combines audience understanding, market analysis, trend identification, and strategic thinking to support client growth, strengthen brand positioning, and identify opportunities within evolving consumer and cultural landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
Market, Consumer, and Competitive Intelligence
- Conduct audience profiling and segmentation to identify target consumer groups and behavioral patterns.
- Analyze consumer attitudes, motivations, and purchasing behaviors to uncover actionable insights.
- Assess brand health, positioning, and category performance using available research and analytics tools.
- Monitor market dynamics, industry developments, and emerging category trends.
- Perform competitive landscape analyses to identify opportunities, threats, and white-space opportunities for clients.
Research and Insight Development
- Design and execute quantitative and qualitative research initiatives.
- Interpret data from multiple sources, including market research, social analytics, digital platforms, and third-party databases.
- Apply data triangulation and source validation methodologies to ensure insight accuracy and reliability.
- Conduct thematic analysis and synthesize findings into clear business and communications implications.
Strategic Planning Support
- Translate complex data and research findings into strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with strategy, creative, and PR teams in campaign and communications planning.
- Contribute to the development of integrated marketing and communications strategies.
- Support new business pitches and client engagements through insight-led recommendations.
Trend and Cultural Intelligence
- Monitor cultural shifts, societal developments, consumer behaviors, and social media conversations.
- Identify emerging trends and their potential impact on brands and communications strategies.
- Provide ongoing intelligence on audience interests, cultural movements, and digital behaviors.
Communication and Data Storytelling
- Develop compelling presentations, reports, and visualizations that communicate research findings and strategic implications.
- Present insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Simplify complex information into clear, engaging narratives that support decision-making.
- Champion data-informed thinking across teams.
Innovation and Capability Building
- Support the adoption and utilization of intelligence, social listening, and analytics tools.
- Explore new methodologies, technologies, and data sources that enhance intelligence capabilities.
- Collaborate with regional and global intelligence teams on best practices, tools, and frameworks.
- Contribute to the development of dashboards, reporting frameworks, and intelligence products.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Psychology, Business, Research, Statistics, Social Sciences, or related field.
- Significant experience in market research, consumer insights, strategic planning, intelligence, analytics, or related disciplines.
- Experience working in advertising, communications, PR, media, consulting, or marketing environments preferred.
- Proficiency with research platforms, analytics tools, social listening platforms, and data visualization tools.
- Strong stakeholder management and presentation capabilities.
