Associate Director – Project Controls Manager

The project

Supporting a major long-term capital investment programme within the UK water sector, providing senior project controls leadership across a portfolio of complex infrastructure projects.

Please note: This role will be based in Peterborough 2–3 days per week, with hybrid working for the remainder of the week.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading integrated project controls across cost, schedule, risk, change and performance reporting.
• Establishing and managing project controls frameworks, governance, processes and programme baselines.
• Providing senior oversight of programme performance, identifying risks, trends and opportunities to support effective decision-making.
• Leading and developing multidisciplinary project controls teams.
• Working with client and delivery teams to drive effective governance, performance management and continuous improvement.
• Providing strategic project controls advice and building strong relationships with senior client stakeholders.

You’ll need to have:

• A degree or equivalent qualification in project management, engineering, construction management, quantity surveying or a related discipline.
• Chartered or working towards chartered status with a relevant professional body such as APM, RICS, ICE or CICES.
• A recognised project or programme management qualification such as APM PMQ, PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent would be advantageous.
• Significant project controls experience within major infrastructure, ideally within water, utilities or another regulated infrastructure environment.
• Strong knowledge across planning, cost, risk, change, governance and performance reporting.
• Experience leading project controls across complex programmes or portfolios.
• Experience managing and developing multidisciplinary project controls teams.
• Strong client-facing and senior stakeholder management experience.
