Overview

Help infrastructure owners turn strategy into delivery

You might know us for the work we do across a wide range of projects. That work is powered by our people's diversity of thought, expertise and knowledge. Join a genuinely collaborative environment where every voice is valued and treated equally. We're building a leading transportation asset management practice, helping clients transform how infrastructure is valued, managed and invested in. We're looking for experienced asset management leaders who combine strategic thinking with practical delivery and understand how strong asset management supports day-to-day operations.

As part of our growing Asset Management practice, you will work alongside industry-leading specialists, digital experts and infrastructure professionals, helping some of the UK's most important transportation organisations address complex asset management, investment and organisational key issues. This is an opportunity to influence major infrastructure organisations, support leading clients and help shape the future of transportation asset management across the UK and beyond.

Your role

You'll help asset owners and operators improve how they plan, manage, maintain and assure infrastructure assets. You'll bring practical leadership experience from operational environments and help clients translate asset management principles into effective processes, governance, performance and delivery outcomes.

Working with transportation and infrastructure clients, you will:

  • Lead asset management transformation and improvement programmes.
  • Advise on asset operations, maintenance and lifecycle planning.
  • Develop asset management frameworks, governance and assurance arrangements.
  • Improve maintenance planning, performance management and decision-making processes.
  • Support operational readiness, asset stewardship and organisational capability development.
  • Provide strategic advice to asset owners, operators and maintainers.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and build strong client relationships.
  • Support business development, work winning and strategic client growth.
  • Mentor and develop colleagues across the asset management practice.

About you

Your experience may come from National Highways or an equivalent organisation, Transport Scotland or another transportation agency, a local highway authority, a major infrastructure operator, a contractor or service provider, or an asset-intensive sector such as rail, aviation, water, defence, utilities or energy.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Significant leadership experience within an asset-intensive organisation.
  • Practical experience implementing asset management systems, governance and ways of working.
  • A background in operational improvement or transformation programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance, operations and lifecycle management.
  • Experience engaging executive leaders, operational teams, suppliers and contractors.
  • Strong communication, influencing and change leadership skills.
  • Experience leading teams, developing people and building organisational capability.
  • A successful background in business development, work winning or strategic client growth.
  • Experience in highways maintenance, network management, asset assurance, outsourced operations or international infrastructure would be an advantage.
  • Experience of privately financed or design-build-finance-operate infrastructure contracts, including contract expiry, handback readiness, asset assurance or lifecycle planning, would also be an advantage.
  • Willingness and ability to travel across the UK to support clients and business development.
