The MBA & MSx Programs at the Stanford Graduate School of Business seeks an experienced professional to serve as Associate Director, Strategy & Curricular Support. This role is responsible for the development and management of programs for the GSB students, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to manage and evolve one or more of the programs that are central to the student academic experience. The portfolio of programs will be shaped by the needs of the department and the strengths of the successful candidate, with the expectation that responsibilities can evolve over time.
In addition to program development and management, the Associate Director will serve as an academic advisor to a cohort of students, guiding them to meet Program requirements. The advising portion of the role involves working collaboratively with the team of academic advisors; developing in-depth knowledge of GSB courses and degree requirements, curriculum structure, faculty and student needs, and the policies, processes, and resources available at the GSB. Insights gained through advising will in turn inform program management and continual improvement of the student experience.
To succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record of successfully developing, launching and managing programs. The ideal candidate will successfully perform data and quantitative analysis and translate data insights into opportunities and persuasive narratives for key stakeholders. Through exceptional communication skills and workstream ownership, you will drive results and creative solutions. An MBA (or demonstrated equivalent experience) is strongly preferred. Those successful in this role will require a flexible mindset to navigate special projects as assigned.
Duties unique to this position:
- Develop and manage co-curricular program(s) that are central to the GSB student academic experience.
- Advise students using excellent judgment and ability with navigating the grey zone.
- Analyze and translate data insights using software tools such as Excel, Powerpoint, Qualtrics, Tableau, Power BI, Python/R/SQL, SAS, and/or Google Analytics.
- Direct and/or supervise staff as needed.
This position is hybrid with the expectation of being onsite 4-5 days per week.
The budgeted salary for this position is $135,000 to $155,000 annualized.

Core Duties:
- Lead the planning and operations for programs or functions that have significant business, regulatory and/or technical challenges requiring subject matter expertise.
- Evaluate programs or functions, policies and procedures. Identify issues, and develop alternative solutions which may include changes to programs, policies and procedures.
- Review and analyze trends to advise and develop recommendations to achieve or modify the goals of the program or function.
- Represent the program or function within the department, unit or school. Commit resources and provide information and/or training. Represent the program or function at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
- Manage and contribute to the development of outreach strategy that may include relationship development, communications and compliance.
- May develop and/or oversee budgets; manage finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.
- Assess training needs and may develop associated training.
- May direct and/or supervise staff.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
