Clyde & Co seeks an enthusiastic attorney with 5-6+ years of experience to join our New York office. The team’s practice is split between defense and coverage litigation in the marine, energy, renewable energy, and transportation sectors. Typical matters include personal injury onboard vessels and energy projects, damage or loss of cargo during water or land transit, motor carrier and broker liability, and property damage and business interruption losses. The team litigates matters at the trial and appellate levels in both U.S. State and Federal courts, representing U.S. and foreign insurer and non-insurer clients. Although the team is based in New York, they work on cases throughout the United States, with a particular focus in the Gulf Coast region where they are looking to expand their practice. A Gulf Coast connection is not required but would be beneficial. Responsibilities Prepare pleadings, briefs and other litigation documents Prepare correspondence to colleagues and clients Conduct legal research Work on all aspects of pretrial to trial Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations as required Provide appeals and trial support Education and Experience Required Admitted to practice in New York 5 – 6+ years of litigation experience Skills and Abilities Required Must possess strong research, writing, and analytical skills Strong interpersonal skills Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly *We are not accepting agency submissions at this time* Our Values Our values are the principles that guide the decisions we make, unite us in our endeavors and strengthen our delivery, for our clients and our firm. The salary range for this position is $190-215k. The range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
