Job Summary:
This entry-level role delivers standardized endpoint provisioning and user-lifecycle services while building foundational technical skills. The Associate Engineer completes routine, documented work under the guidance of experienced engineers, validates results, communicates progress, and escalates exceptions promptly. This position works remotely within the centralized Deployment Services Center and supports clients regardless of geography through approved remote-management, collaboration, and service platforms.

Responsibilities
Endpoint Provisioning and Deployment
- Provision Windows and Apple endpoints using Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Jamf, and other approved platforms and workflows.
- Execute and maintain client-specific build profiles covering applications, security tools, drive mappings, printers, permissions, and endpoint configuration.
- Validate completed deployments against documented client standards, security requirements, and service-level objectives.
- Coordinate direct-ship, drop-ship, and approved shipping-fallback workflows with Procurement and Vendor Management.
User Lifecycle Management
- Perform user onboarding, account provisioning, entitlement assignment, Active Directory administration, and Microsoft 365 configuration.
- Apply approved entitlement tiers and security-group memberships according to documented client standards.
- Complete offboarding activities, including account disablement, license reclamation, asset tracking, and approved data-retention steps.
- Follow established runbooks and document all work in the designated systems of record.
- Participate in a week-long on-call rotation several times per year to support user-lifecycle work outside standard business hours, as required.
Operational Excellence
- Meet documented deployment, onboarding, offboarding, quality, and turnaround standards.
- Maintain accurate records in ConnectWise PSA, IT Glue, NetSuite, and other designated systems.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through automation, standardization, and process improvement.
- Contribute to capacity planning, workload management, deployment forecasting, and operational reporting.
Collaboration and Client Service
- Partner with Client Onboarding to validate requirements before employee start dates.
- Collaborate with Business Operations, Service Delivery, Intake and Dispatch, Procurement, Vendor Management, Service Desk, Engineering, and Solution Review.
- Provide clear, timely updates on status, risks, dependencies, and milestones.
- Deliver professional, responsive service to clients and internal stakeholders.
Role-Level Expectations
- Execute routine deployments and user-lifecycle requests by following approved runbooks and checklists.
- Verify work before completion and escalate non-standard, high-risk, or unclear requests.
- Build proficiency in endpoint management, identity administration, documentation, and client communication.
- Accept coaching, incorporate feedback, and contribute observations that improve team documentation.
Experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Foundational knowledge of Windows and Apple endpoint provisioning
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Jamf, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365
- Ability to follow technical runbooks, checklists, and change-control requirements
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and customer service
- Ability to manage assigned tasks and escalate blockers promptly
Education and Experience
- Zero to one year of technical experience in an IT environment; internships, labs, certifications, and hands-on coursework may qualify
- Associate degree in a related discipline or equivalent education and practical experience
- Exposure to an MSP, service desk, endpoint-management platform, PSA, or documentation system is preferred
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- CompTIA A+ or an equivalent foundational certification is preferred.
Work Environment and Schedule
- The role requires extended computer use, clear written and verbal communication, and coordination across multiple clients and time zones.
- Participation in scheduled after-hours support may be required as described above.
