· Set technical direction and architectural standards in partnership with Principal Engineers and Architects; make and defend build/buy/platform decisions.

· Partner with the broader R&D organization (Quality, Systems, Regulatory, Clinical) and with global sites to align on design controls, V&V strategy, and submission readiness.

· Define and institutionalize sustainable product development processes; drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, quality, and cycle time across teams, not just within one team.

· Own hiring strategy, workforce planning, vendor/partner engagement, and budget inputs for your organization.

· Represent the software organization to OU and site leadership, and in design reviews, phase gates, and audits.

· Remove systemic barriers, resolve cross-team conflicts, and create the conditions for teams to deliver predictably.

· Champion a culture of engineering excellence, psychological safety, patient safety, and compliance.
