Working closely with the firm’s leadership on international client work.
Fully remote | Full-time
Monday morning. The chair of a family company in Milan has read the shortlist over the weekend and wants to talk. A candidate in Singapore has gone quiet. The partner leading the assignment is somewhere over the Gulf.
Someone has noticed and brought the threads together. By the time the partner lands, the conversation is prepared and nothing important has been left unattended.
That someone is the Associate we are appointing at Selion Global.
You may already be doing work of this kind in an advisory practice, a founder’s office, executive education or the finest end of hospitality: understanding what matters to people, exercising judgement on their behalf and making sure that what was intended actually happens. Executive search can be learned; those professional instincts are the foundation you would bring.
You have also helped shape and deliver curated gatherings, with a thoughtful eye for the programme, the setting and the people taking part, and the resourcefulness to bring it all together. That, too, has a place at Selion.
Selion Global advises boards, founders and chief executives on appointments and leadership decisions that carry lasting consequence. Anchored in Singapore and London, with partner offices internationally, we also convene private leadership residencies and gatherings through The Selion Circle.
The position
You would work alongside the partners on international client assignments, learning to understand the brief, the business behind it and the judgements that shape a successful appointment. From the outset, you would contribute to delivery, combining preparation with direct client and candidate contact and responsibility for agreed parts of the work.
Between partner conversations, you would often be the person clients and candidates hear from. You would keep them informed, prepare correspondence and ensure that commitments are followed through. Briefs, client updates, candidate reports and shortlist documents would also be yours to draft, which calls for an understanding of the context as well as accuracy and care.
You would handle exchanges within your remit, recognise what needs the partner’s attention and make sure they have what they need to respond well. Much of the contribution lies in what you notice: a question left unanswered, a change in tone or something that needs more thought before it leaves the firm.
Alongside the advisory work, you would have a real part in The Selion Circle. That means helping to shape programmes, looking after invitations and guests, working with the places and people who host us, and making sure that what begins in a residency is followed through afterwards. It asks for the same qualities as the client work: a sense of occasion, discretion, and care for people who are used to being well looked after.
The role does not include routine diary management or personal travel and expense administration.
Who we are looking for
Your experience may come from executive search or leadership advisory, a founder’s or principal’s office, executive education, a think tank or the finest end of hospitality. Wherever you have worked, your contribution has extended beyond administration: you have understood the purpose of the work, exercised judgement and taken responsibility for its progress.
Communication is a strength. Your spoken and written English is of a high order. You absorb complexity and express what matters with clarity, economy and a feel for tone. You have meaningful international experience and are comfortable across European and Asian business cultures. Discretion is second nature.
You use AI and modern tools intelligently, learn new systems readily. You are curious about business and people, and practical when there is no obvious route forward. In a lean firm, you are willing to think beyond the immediate task and see the detailed work through.
What it offers
This is an opportunity to bring established strengths into a wider professional world. You would see how companies are led, how decisions about their leaders are made and how enduring advisory relationships are built. Through The Selion Circle, you would also come to know that world in a more private setting.
You would work closely with experienced partners and deepen your understanding of the business. As your contribution develops, your responsibility on client assignments would grow, and with it your part in The Selion Circle.
The appointment is fully remote, offering independence and close collaboration across an international practice. It suits someone who enjoys working this way and remains dependable and connected without constant oversight.
