A Day in the Life

Our Associate PSM Consultant (PHA Leader) position is a partially remote position in which up to 50% of time will be spent traveling supporting our customers at their facilities, which can be located anywhere in the USA.

The compensation range for this role is $115,000 to $135,000 commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • Providing Facilitation or Scribe services for Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and Hierarchy of Controls activities.

  • Conducting Compliance Audits at client facilities to assess client performance against regulatory requirements.

  • Helping our clients to build and enhance their PSM programs through implementation of one or more elements of the Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) regulations.

  • Industry Representation & Thought Leadership – Represent the firm at conferences, author white papers, and engage in industry associations.

  • Cross-Functional Team Collaboration – Support staff-level employees in field work, mentoring junior scientists and engineers.

  • Act as point of contact for clients.

  • Effectively communicate with team members on project status & staffing needs.

  • Practice safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.

  • Participate in continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.

  • The position may require travel and an occasional overnight stay.

  • Travel to offices, project sites and project meetings on an as-needed basis.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Expertise and Skills

These requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here.

  • BSME or BSChE from an accredited university.

  • A thorough understanding of Process Safety Management and its importance to personal safety.

  • A thorough understanding of EPA’s Risk Management Program requirements.

  • Ability to function as part of a team.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Good documentation skills.

  • Ability to mentor / train others.

  • Experience: 8+ years industry experience.
