Role Overview

Prime Finance is looking for a collaborative and motivated Associate to join our Accounting team in San Francisco. The ideal candidate brings a solid accounting foundation and a self-starter mentality, with at least three years of experience in an accounting or finance role. Experience with private equity fund accounting, data gathering, and reporting is a strong plus.

In this role, you'll support the Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Investor Relations, and Compliance functions by preparing recurring and ad hoc reporting across accounting and fund-related information. You'll work closely with the Accounting team while building relationships cross-functionally — with other departments, external advisors, and members of the management team.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare regular and one-off reports on fund performance.
• Pull together data for investor reports and SEC filings.
• Calculate key fund figures such as NAV, waterfalls, and capital balances.
• Complete recurring investor requests on time.
• Answer internal and external questions on fund financial data.
• Prepare portfolio reports for senior management.
• Suggest ways to make reporting faster and more accurate.
• Work closely with the Accounting team and other departments.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or commensurate work experience (required).
• 3+ years of related accounting or finance experience, preferably in an investment fund setting.
• Experience with private equity fund accounting, data gathering, and reporting (preferred).
• Familiarity with industry reporting standards such as NCREIF, PREA, and ILPA (preferred).
• Understanding of real estate investments and fund structures (preferred).
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel — pivot tables, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH — and strong command of the broader MS Office Suite (required).
• Experience with Yardi or other accounting GL and financial reporting systems (preferred).
