Show job description

Global Strategy Group (GSG) works at the intersection of business, politics, and causes. We’re the go-to public affairs, communications, and research partner for brands, causes, and campaigns, helping our clients build their reputations, tackle big challenges, and win. Our team brings together people from research, strategic communications, and public affairs who are passionate about what they do, curious about the world around them, and motivated by challenging, high-stakes work.

We are seeking an Associate to join our Insights research team, focused on public affairs and corporate reputation research. If you’re interested in the big issues making headlines—and how companies navigate an increasingly complex political and reputational landscape—this is a chance to dig into them. Our research helps leading companies and organizations understand what policymakers, consumers, and other key stakeholders think; navigate political, legislative, regulatory, and reputational challenges; and determine how to communicate effectively when the stakes are high.

The right candidate is intellectually curious, interested in the intersection of business and politics, and excited to dig into data to understand not just what people think, but why. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, take ownership of moving projects forward, and be eager to deepen your research skills while working on issues that are shaping the conversation.

Responsibilities

  • Produce first-draft analyses of research projects, including both written analyses and visual PowerPoint presentations, with project lead guidance.
  • Assist in day-to-day research project and client management in collaboration with colleagues, including keeping the team on schedule, tracking project tasks, developing agendas, and taking notes on internal and external calls.
  • Work with project teams to ensure our clients feel like they are our first and only priority by responding in a timely fashion, anticipating client needs, and continuously updating clients on our activity and progress.
  • Begin to produce first drafts of survey questionnaires and qualitative research screeners and guides, with project lead guidance.
  • Oversee sampling and fielding of studies to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Actively troubleshoot project fielding issues, identifying and implementing solutions and/or escalating issues to the project team.
  • Ensure high-quality control of quantitative projects, i.e., monitor telephone polls for accuracy as they are executed and test survey links.
  • Ensure client deliverables are proofed, number-checked, and error-free.
  • Moderate online discussion boards, as needed
  • Prepare background and supporting information for new business and research projects

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in primary research, public affairs, government, political research, or a related field, with a strong interest in the intersection of business, politics, and public opinion. We also welcome candidates with political research experience interested in applying those skills to public affairs and corporate reputation work.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • A proven ability to successfully juggle multiple projects.
  • Ability to work efficiently and quickly produce high-quality work products.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience with catching mistakes and being detail oriented.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel Word).
  • Experience/coursework with statistics and advanced quantitative methods, a plus
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The base salary for this role is between $65,000 to $72,000 commensurate with experience. GSG provides a comprehensive benefits package including excellent coverage for medical, vision, and dental insurance; paid parental leave; generous time off and holidays; 401k with employer match; and additional benefits.

When submitting your resume, please include a cover letter which highlights your relevant experience, along with why you want to be part of the team at GSG. We are interested in candidates who align with our mission and want to contribute to our continued growth.
