As an Electrical Associate Technical Director, you will provide technical leadership, design assurance, and subject matter expertise across complex building services projects. You will lead and mentor project teams, influence critical design decisions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and technically robust engineering solutions.
In this role, you will support project delivery excellence through rigorous design reviews, quality assurance, and the development of technical capabilities within the Global Excellence Centre (GEC). You will collaborate closely with in-country teams and global delivery partners to achieve coordinated, efficient, and high-quality project outcomes while promoting innovation, standardization, and continuous improvement across the business.

Role accountabilities:

You will also undertake a range of leadership and "hat role" responsibilities, including acting as a key liaison with in-country counterparts and sector or regional leaders, supporting business priorities, driving technical initiatives, and contributing to strategic growth and operational excellence within your assigned sector or region. You will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Provide technical leadership in the design of electrical building services systems, including lighting, power distribution, fire detection, Earthing and Lightning protection, CCTV, security and other low-voltage systems.
  • Lead the preparation and review of comprehensive electrical engineering deliverables across project phases, including calculations, specifications, reports, presentations, schematic designs, 3D models and working drawings & sketches.
  • Verify, challenge and assure design solutions to ensure they are safe, coordinated, technically robust, commercially aware and aligned with client, project, statutory and scope requirements.
  • Provide direction and guidance to colleagues managing large, complex or multidisciplinary projects, supporting effective delivery, decision-making and technical quality.
  • Lead discipline-level project delivery by ensuring clear scope agreements, budgets, resource plans, schedules and multidisciplinary coordination are in place.
  • Review team performance and training plans, implement practical action plans and improve overall delivery efficiency.
  • Build strong partnering relationships with regional business areas to resolve delivery challenges, identify business opportunities, establish delivery protocols and improve GEC services.
  • Apply a broad understanding of business and financial metrics to drive innovation, improve team contribution and support the successful operation of the business.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design delivery by promoting standardization, automation, digital tools and consistent ways of working that improve quality, efficiency and team performance.
  • Contribute to technical capability development by sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues and strengthening discipline expertise.
  • Embed sustainability, safety-in-design, accessibility, maintainability, coordination, buildability and emerging technologies into project delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 15-20 years of experience in Electrical Building Services Engineering, with a proven track record in the delivery of complex building projects within a consulting environment.
  • Strong experience in Data Centers, Industrial, Semiconductor, and Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences projects, with Data Center experience being highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the design, review, and delivery of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, earthing and lightning protection, fire detection and alarm, security, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems.
  • Proven technical leadership experience in multidisciplinary projects, including design assurance, quality reviews, technical governance, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience leading and developing engineering teams, with direct people management responsibility while supporting larger project and discipline teams.
  • Ability to effectively balance people leadership (50%) and technical project delivery (50%), ensuring both team performance and project excellence.
  • Strong experience in coaching, mentoring, performance management, succession planning, and capability development to build high-performing technical teams.
  • Demonstrated commercial awareness with experience in resource planning, project budgeting, utilization management, and delivery performance oversight.
  • International project delivery experience, or extensive collaboration with global teams and stakeholders, is preferred.
