The Associate Vice President of Strategy is viewed by peers and clients as a seasoned expert with visibility across higher education. You possess a broad knowledge of research and strategy across the entire suite of Ologie services. In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading high-value clients with complex enrollment marketing and admissions challenges.
Through your work, you’ll ensure our strategic offer is current and aligned with industry needs.
You’ll assemble research findings into insights that help prospective students and families navigate the college search process. You’ll offer trusted guidance and consultation to both internal and external partners that leads to stronger relationships. You’ll monitor the execution of your strategies in collaboration with discipline leads across design, writing, web, media, and the like. You’ll actively contribute to business development through sales conversations, proposal development and pitch presentations. And, you’ll contribute rich content and thought leadership to enhance Ologie’s market visibility.
- Partner with creative and account executives in leading high-value client relationships, especially those with complex enrollment marketing needs throughout the funnel.
- Serve as a senior consultant and thought partner to clients, drawing on insight, data, and industry expertise to guide business and marketing decisions.
- Provide mentoring and leadership within the strategy group and throughout the firm, focused mostly on the enrollment strategy offer, processes, tools, resourcing and best-practices.
- Serve as the lead strategist on a portfolio of projects by conducting research, assembling insights, defining and presenting strategy.
- Develop and refine Ologie’s enrollment marketing offer and integrate it across client work and internal processes.
- Collaborate with internal leaders to ensure strategic insight is embedded throughout all phases of a project—not just during discovery.
- Identify opportunities to expand strategic work within existing client relationships and in support of new business efforts.
- Collaborate closely with Ologie’s research team to develop mix-methods research approaches that yield insight to the student journey.
- Collaborate with research analysts to review survey and enrollment data, looking for insights that inform marketing opportunities throughout the enrollment funnel.
- Identify and assemble data-driven personas that can be used to increase marketing effectiveness and inform creative decisions.
- Translate data and research into insightful journey maps that show how students and families navigate the college search process.
- Define and assemble dashboards that help Ologie and clients monitor key performance metrics.
- Represent Ologie in the industry through thought leadership, speaking engagements, and writing that elevates our strategic reputation.
- Draw on industry experience and relationships to generate new business opportunities for sales and revenue growth.
- Collaborate closely with creative, digital and media, client engagement, and operations teams to ensure strategy supports the work across disciplines.
- Bring a long-term, big-picture perspective to each client relationship, helping guide future opportunities and ongoing growth.
- 8+ years of leadership experience in higher education marketing or enrollment strategy roles - agency or consultancy experience preferred.
- Proven success in developing and delivering marketing strategy for complex organizations, particularly in higher education, fundraising, national non-profits, health systems, or other mission-driven sectors.
- Exceptional ability to translate research, data, and insight into clear, compelling strategic direction.
- Strong communicator and presenter with the ability to lead conversations with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
- Confidence to present in front of large groups of 30 or more individuals.
- Skilled at building relationships, guiding collaboration, and creating alignment across internal and external partners.
- Ability to develop, grow and maintain industry visibility and network.
- Confident in managing teams, budgets, timelines, and competing priorities.
- A natural leader who models curiosity, humility, inclusion and adaptability.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to perform job duties from a home office setup, which may include prolonged periods of sitting, using a computer, and engaging in virtual communication.
- Must be able to hear and speak clearly, with the ability to use a phone, video conferencing tools, communication software, and email to communicate effectively with employees and clients.
- Must have adequate vision to view computer screens and read printed materials regularly.
- Must be able to perform basic physical tasks such as reaching, standing, walking, and operating standard office equipment. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to meet regular attendance and schedule requirements of approximately 9:00am to 5:00pm ET, Monday through Friday, with occasional extended time to meet business and client needs.

- This role reports to the Chief Strategy Officer.
- Ologie is a remote-friendly organization, with employees working from home, from our Columbus, Ohio office, or a combination of both. For this role, candidates must be located in the Eastern or Central time zones, or in the greater Columbus, Ohio area. We are not able to hire in New York state at this time.
- The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000. Your final salary will be determined based on your training, relevant experience, and location.

Paid time off includes your own flexible personal time, along with paid holidays throughout the year, including a holiday break (typically up to six days) at the end of December.
