Assistant Senior Social Worker (FSC Admiralty)
Job Purpose
Co-lead multi-disciplinary teams involved in casework and group work as well as implement community development programmes in collaboration with partners & stakeholders. Provide practice supervision to junior Social Workers and assist Senior/Lead Social Workers in uplifting the level of professional practice
1. Case Management:
- Conduct risks and needs assessments by taking into account the integration of a range of information, which includes appropriate administration of risk and needs assessment tools and frameworks
- Prepare, review and endorse social reports
- Lead multi-disciplinary case conference as part of intervention process. To guide junior workers in facilitating case conferences of a similar nature
- Use of organisational frameworks to conduct a holistic assessment that includes resilience capacity and risk assessment.
- Apply a logical thinking process of case conceptualisation and case assessment to come to a case intervention plan
2. Group Work:
- Supervise the facilitation of groupwork interventions
- Evaluate the progress and effectiveness of groupwork interventions within the organization as part of the process to ensure that our services remain relevant
- Professional Practice:
- Demonstrate professional practice and role with clarity and confidence, and the ability to defend the role and practice when in conversations in key stakeholders, in accordance to the organizational's vision, mission and best practice standards of the sector, which include ethical, reflexive and collaborative practice
3. Programme Design and Implementation:
- Lead in implementation of standards of care, organisational health policies, procedures and programmes
- Research:
- Review service delivery models aligned to evidence-based practices
4. Community Work:
- Design, implement and evaluate new community outreach and community development initiatives by mobilising community resources, other social service providers and volunteers
- Practice Supervision:
- Supervise junior social workers and engage in continuous personal development. Supervision must be conducted according to organizational supervision practice to ensure practice alignment and standards
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor’s / Graduate Diploma / Master in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of direct (post qualification) social work experience [especially in Casework & Counselling].
- Experience in providing case and clinical supervision to social/case workers.
- Experience working with high-risk (family violence) cases.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to keep calm when there is pressure or tension.
- Enjoys working in a vibrant and fast-paced environment
- Excellent with time and task management skills
- Able to prioritise under tight deadlines
- Team player with an ability to function effectively.
- Registered Social Worker preferred.
