Audiovisual at TEECOM
TEECOM's Audiovisual practice designs integrated AV systems for clients across a wide and growing range of industries and facility types. Work spans conference and collaboration rooms, training centers, experience centers, auditoriums, classrooms, multipurpose spaces with presentation systems, simulation labs, digital signage, public address, and broadcast and media facilities.
AV designers at TEECOM prepare system designs through drawings consisting of signal flow diagrams, floor plans with equipment and infrastructure layouts, presentation wall elevations, rack layouts, equipment schedules, and details. These designs are supplemented with AV system specifications, issued as complete construction document sets. You will coordinate with architects and owner representatives, IT teams, end users, acoustical consultants, MEP teams, and various AV manufacturers throughout design, and AV integrators during construction. TEECOM works across the full AV project lifecycle — performing a needs analysis and understanding the user experience that shapes system designs, documenting those designs, supporting the bid process, and engagement throughout the construction administration process.
At more senior levels, you will lead AV design strategies, support or develop client standards, mentor junior designers, manage client relationships, and help shape TEECOM's AV practice and service offerings.
What We're Looking For
We hire at all levels — the strongest AV candidates take ownership of the user experience end-to-end: they’re curious about how people use spaces and proactively engage to design solutions to address the specific needs. If you don’t have everything on this list yet, that’s expected — TEECOM develops people through structured documentation, mentorship, and real project work.
- Experience designing AV systems across a range of facility types and industries
- Familiarity with leading platforms including Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, and AMX, understanding of network technologies such as AES67, Dante, AVB, SMPTE ST 2110, NDI, and IPMX, and modern UC endpoints (Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms)
- Ability to produce AV construction documents — device layouts, equipment elevations, signal flow diagrams, rack layouts, interface details, Division 27 specifications, and system descriptions and narratives
- Understanding of room acoustics fundamentals as it relates to speech intelligibility and AV system performance
- Experience with Revit related to AV system design, modeling, and documentation
- Degree in any four-year engineering discipline, computer science, technology management, or a related technical field — or equivalent hands-on experience
- AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or CTS-D (Certified Technology Specialist – Design) certification — preferred
- PE license (electrical preferred) — plus
- Ability to manage your own work independently across multiple concurrent projects
